Target discount on a new VW car?

The one thing you need to be prepared with Carwow is loads of emails now from the dealers asking about your interest in buying from them.
And that would put me off - the whole point of a broker is you dont have a load of hassle and a load of dealers to deal with.
I would just want the best price and who is going to give it to me.0 -
I have had quotes from Carwow for several cars (ended up leasing) never was I bombarded with emails. All messages were through the Carwow site. Names and phone numbers from dealers were available should one want to talk further.
I didnt buy from them but thought it a good way to buy a car. Far better than trawling round local disinterested dealers.0 -
I bought a VW in November through Carwow. Nobody could touch the prices their dealer network came back with.
I certainly didn't get bombarded with spam. It's worth pointing out that none of the dealers who provide a quote know who you are, nor do they have your contact details until you choose to make contact and share them.0 -
Not the experience I had, although it was around 3 years ago when Carwow was just starting out. Obviously improved since then.insert_random_name_here wrote: »I bought a VW in November through Carwow. Nobody could touch the prices their dealer network came back with.

I prefer the carwow approach because you are introduced to 5 dealers straightaway, and you can just take it from there. You don't have to deal with any intermediary. How is carwow the most straightforward?
Broadspeed give you an instant price there and then? What could be simpler?
Also Broadspeed seem to be doing discounts across the range of approx 15%, so why are you setting your target discount of 9.7% when more may well be available?
Yes, Broadspeed give you an instant email quote, but you have to ring up to confirm the price, find out who the dealer is, and so on.
Drive the Deal appears very cagey. They will give you a quote online without any breakdown of the items and I found it impossible to save or print a copy.
For a car costing over £20K, the Broadspeed price, the Drive the Deal price and the lowest carwow price were all within £300 of each other.
And I haven't been pestered by emails from dealers through using carwow.0 -
Just curious ... why did you start this thread if you've used carwow before?0
-
Precisely! Before I started this thread, I had only heard of carwow but never used it. And I had never heard of Broadspeed or Drive the Deal. It is thanks to the encouragement of those who replied to this thread that I have now tried all three. How do you know that he hasn't used them in the days since the thread was started?0 -
From no knowledge to a position of talking with authority within 5 days? OK.
