  • We are claiming adverse possession on a piece of garden that we have used for 16 years as believing to be our own it's all going through but now the council tenants in the property adjacent to the land have said they want to buy their council property and have taken down our fence that's been ther for 16 years
  • We informed the police and they said they could face criminal damage but it is a civil matter really how bad are the neighbours doing that ?

Push it with the police as to why it's civil and not criminal (if they damaged or threw it away).
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!
  • They have taken it down and placed in their garden ? It's no good now to use again we are so upset

    - the lack of boundary where they claim the real boundary should be has also been visible by me for the same amount of time. Is it likely that would hold up,
The boundary is "a line in the sand", there is no need for an actual fence, wall or whatever, unless there is a covenant or similar, which states one should be maintained.

Of course, had there been a fence, it would have stopped you wandering in there and trying to stake a claim ;)

You need to start your own thread about this piece of land - rather than posting on someone else's thread.
  • Not sure how to start my own
