"How can any logical person come to the conclusion that psychics are real?"

Ah, but that's where you are going wrong. We are human beings not robots, that is we are not ruled by logic, it may help at times, but what we 'feel' may be just as valid as what we 'think'.
Mediums (not all psychics are mediums), aren't given from the 'other side a verbatim script to follow, they get images that they interpret, and/or they get physical clues - if a visit to the dentist or optician is called for.
While some of the info maybe of little significance as a 'test', but when each one is combined together, the odds of randomly arriving at such a sequence become astronomical.

If i had a special ability and people were skeptical about it i would actively want to scientifically prove that it was genuine. So if there are so many true psychics why have none of them ever passed a scientific test.

This all reminds me of a program about a girl who claimed to be able to see inside peoples body's and diagnose illnesses. Many people in her community believed her have a real gift and she was apparently able to touch someone and instantly see any problems with them. There was many interviews with people who were genuinely shocked how good she was.
So they put 5 people in a room on chairs who sat still and didn't talk. She was simply asked to diagnose the illness/injury of each person. She spent over an hour in the room and could not even get one right, one person even had a big metal plate inside them but she even missed that.

How can any logical person come to the conclusion that psychics are real?.

If anyone here still genuinely believes in a psychics then book an appointment with one who you don't know, give a false name and just sit there quietly and don't say a word and see how good they are?. Repeat this with as many different ones as you like and then see what conclusion you come to about their abilities.

I don't believe that psychic is real (the look inside people's body one). The thing that's a shame is if she had said "I can diagnose illnesses just by speaking to you, touching you, and watching you move around", would anyone have been less impressed?

I also believe that if I go around to 50 different psychics chances are every single one would be a fake. Because I believe 99.9% of them are and use standard techniques, particularly the ones who are making money from you. But that doesn't mean there are no genuine ones.

As I said earlier, those for whom this isn't their job actually have a lot to lose. Given the reactions of a lot of people here, can you imagine how I'd be viewed if, as a (vaguely) credible scientist, I claimed to have psychic powers? Especially because, as a scientist, I can see no possible way to devise a scientific study that could accurately assess whether my sister's friend has psychic powers or not. You can't stick her in a room with someone she has never met and say "tell me something about this person". Her abilities do not work like that. And even if she did come up with something accurate, how could she prove that she had never come across this individual before and therefore couldn't have got this information from elsewhere?

I see no mention of religion on Sally Morgan's website, I do see that a disclaimer that its for the purposes of entertainment, and run by a limited company. You have to go on the T&Cs for that though, and the links for the phone and text lines are much more prominent.

I'd happily see religions stripped of their ability to profit from their followers, but at least there's a possibility that some of then do genuinely believe what they're saying. Psychics like Sally Morgan know full well they are deceiving.

This woman's clearly having a profound effect upon you if you're feeling the need to visit her website and spend hours on an anonymous forum spouting bile about her.

Stop making decisions on other people's behalf. You have no right to police what others spend their money on.

This is a money saving forum. It is perfectly reasonable to point out people who are scamming others out of their cash, hard-earned or otherwise. The subject needs policing as fraud is unacceptable.

Nice to see you back, it's been a while....;)

Sick to death of the endless Brexit threads on DT. It's like a Daily Fail readers club there most of the time. So much angst, so little idea.:(

I believe that there are people how have special abilities to see the past and the future. However, it could have been a charlatan, since there are even more people like this.
If she has told details of this tragic event, which could not have been found out by "fishing" or in searching networks, than we have no other choice but to admit that she is psychic.
