Phew! Today didn't quite go as planned - but not in a bad way.
Foxgloves - you are an absolute angel.:A Thankyou for thinking of me and my crochet obsession. I can't wait to make them.
So, lots of stuff as planned, but then also loads of extra stuff as well. DD was invited to a sleepover with about 3 hours notice! With a hot tub and everything - I'm quite jealous, but everything was a bit hectic after gymnastics, top up shop and getting her there.
DH's ankle looks lots worse today than yesterday - bruised all the way up the back of his calf and everything. We took him to urgent care yesterday and the nurse said there was nothing she could do - no strapping it up or crutches offered. He's really struggling to get round. Debating whether to take him back for a second opinion.

    Plans for today
    [STRIKE] check banking and PAD[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE] go to the chemist and pick up dh prescriptions as he can't[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE] small top up shop [/STRIKE] Ended up being £20 in Aldee and £8 in Icyland
[STRIKE] fill car up with petrol[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE] get ds to gymnastics[/STRIKE]
 lots of crochet time none yet :(
[STRIKE] spend some time looking through exam stuff[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE] get the kids to help with housework[/STRIKE]
 aim to get washing dry outside :rotfl: started chucking it down as the washing finished.
[STRIKE] juggle and sort budget for the remainder of the month[/STRIKE] Tight, and dh's birthday next week. Good job that's already sorted.

La E Thank you for getting us started this morning.

I've been missing for about 10 days :o I hope all are well, I will do my best to read back over the next day or two.

Last Friday we went to Glasgow for a weeks holiday :D, we arrived home last night, we had planned and booked this before OH hurt his back. Thankfully we had decided to rent a flat instead of camping like we normally do. We intentionally weren't as frugal we are at home but we didn't go wild. On our way to Scotland we visited http://www.vindolanda.com/
children used their Blue Peter badges for free entry. We used our National Trust for Scotland membership http://www.nts.org.uk/Home/ to visit Hill house, Culzean castle, Battle of Bannockburn which I'm counting as free as we pay our membership whether we visit anywhere or not. We also visited a couple of local parks and museums which were free :money: For meals we did a combination of take food from home, buy easy cook meal deals, take picnics out with us have a great fish supper, had the occasional coffee & cake whilst out and about, bought ice creams/lollies in the supermarket and ate out twice, including on our way home last night. In addition to all the places we visited we took books, games (including cards, perudo, yahtzee, mastermind)and used our Amazon prime free trial for free entertainment.
We could of made our trip less expensive particularly by choosing to cook from scratch, but we decided we wanted a holiday and had budgeted to be able to cater this way.
We had a great time and we have plenty more on our list of things to do in and around Glasgow, I would like to go back next year but I'm not sure we will manage it as we have so many other places we would also like to visit so I may have to delay it a while.

OH's back has greatly improved since he hurt himself and fortnight ago, today he hasn't taken any codeine and he has managed a greater range of movements, just hoping he doesn't overdo it and have a set back.

    Today I have:
    NSD
Post on this thread for support, motivation and inspiration
    Open curtains fully
Close curtains before it gets dark
Turn off lights and appliances not in use
    reusable sanitary wear
    B/L/D from stores
    make bread
    Reserve library books
    PAD into saving £3.66 -1p
    Soak porridge overnight
    Check FPL
    Educate children for free
Entertain children and us for free
    Do not wash hair
    Walk everywhere
Read Martin’s email, didn't manage in the week
No heating, we have jumpers and blankets
Light the stove, burning free wood, damp and cool here today
put kettle on stove for free hot water, put water in flasks if boiled before ready to use and refill kettle, water used for making hot drinks (we drink plenty of these, cooking rice, pasta etc, washing up etc)
    Ongoing projects:
    Cull 100 emails
Keep up to date with destroying confidential waste
Continue making scrap/note pad with used envelopes, the back of used paper all held together with a bulldog clip
    Tidy Google drive

    Sorry for the epic post.

I now need to catch up with what everyone has been doing whilst we have been on our jollies.

    Evening all :)
Thanks for starting us off La E - as for your house's old owner's debts, well, they aren't yours so not your problem. We rented this house out for a couple of years, and even now, five years after they left, we still get debt letters for them. We have had bailiffs too - and just told them that Mr x had moved away some years ago, and away they went!

Nice to see you back DNMS :) Take care xx
    Hope PF is ok :(
Hope your DH's ankle gets better soon CCL.

Not managed much today as DD and GD have been here all day
    Posted 2 ebay sales
Little shop - wanted some ingredients to make another terrine :)
    Fed everyone lunch
Helped DD to make a free present for her friend who has her birthday today. Apparently friend doesn't have much money, and is trying to do her garden, so we found a disused plastic planter, gave it a scrub, and planted it up with spare herbs, salad leaves and flower plants for her patio. It looked very pretty when we had finished, and she really liked it apparently :D
Wet walk with unwilling dog after DD and GD had gone
Listed a couple more items on ebay, no sales yet today, though a buyer from yesterday paid, and I had a low offer on an item which I declined.
Rest of yesterday's shepherds pie for dinner

Tired, so bed soon I think!

    Hi May Marvellous-oes,

    Morning all.

Beautiful day today so DW and I will be out for a walk this morning.

Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:

    * I have just audited the remainder of my clothes. DW has given me some stuff she doesn't wear so I just need one new pair of combat trousers and I have ample outerwear.

    * Breakfast was a home cooked sausage sandwich.

    How about you folks?

P.S. DW just announced she wishes to spend another £400 on camera-ma-bob-ery. I nearly fainted. We will talk about this...

    Morning all :D :hello:

BB - glad you enjoyed the holiday - you have to give yourself a treat now and again so I'm pleased that you relaxed a bit, and also pleased dh is on the mend.
Ally - I too have just finished eating a sausage sandwich for breakfast. Yum.
I'm so pleased the sun is out today because I'm completely exhausted. Yesterday's busy day stayed busy. You know that second opinion I mentioned? Well, when dh's leg started to go all red/purple and mottled I decided to get it. The second opinion from 111 was to go to A&E, and after 4 hours there we came home complete with broken ankle, plaster cast and crutches. It was 3am before I got to bed this morning, and dh is almost completely helpless because he can't even hobble around on his foot any more - no weight bearing at all.
So - today's plans will be limited.
    :) PAD
    :) Tutoring
:) Collect dd from her sleepover
:) Do some batch cooking to help dh whilst he's an invalid...
    :) Nap this afternoon
:) Do some quality cover work and send into school - I need to take dh to the fracture clinic tomorrow so can't go in.
    :) Minimal spend day
:) Aim for 7000 steps for Bounts
:) Crochet if I can be bothered
:) Wait on dh hand and foot. I need some inspiration for funny gifts - it's his birthday next week and I fancy getting him something funny...
    Right. Best get on.
    Have a good day all.

    Hi everyone

We took the dog out just in time - it's bucketing down here now. We went out a lovely walk - I've always seen his park from the outside but never been in as it didn't look dog friendly, but on closer examination dogs were allowed on leads and I'm so glad - it was such a lovely space - like a mini botanical garden and it's just 10 min walk from my house. Getting out in nature is good for the soul! :D

I've done a bit of prep for my yoga classes but just feeling a bit flat about them all - think I'll take the summer off and re-group. I have one class in not so good a studio with good students and one class in a better studio with only one regular student. OH thinks location location location and that I should stick with the good studio and students will come/transfer (even though I'm not sure...), but I don't want to alienate my current students who like the class/time/day/location because they are my class...they just don't realise the annoying charging policies and politics of it all.... Other option is to keep both but that's been quite a bit of pressure on me recently, esp when only a couple of people come and I need to pay the studio myself. Ho hum, sorry for moaning/brain dump!!

    Small things wise:
    • Brekkie from stores (although stores are running low for sure...!)
    • Take away leftovers for lunch
    • Must go to @ldi before the shop shuts and dinner is a take away like last night
    • Feeding my net flix addiction
    • Own pedicure
    • WM on quick wash
    • Not using TD :naughty:
    • Book dog's day care for this week - I've got two biz meetings over lunch time this week (two free lunches :T) but means I can't get home for pooch - the 'problems' of OH working :D
    • Told pal about Bounts and about Sugru - you ladies change my life! :rotfl:

CCL - Glad you got that second opinion!!! I'd go for lots of things to keep him occupied...Netflix subscription?! :o (Sorry, I'm addicted :rotfl:)
