Oh no Cat sorry to hear that. How long will he be out of action for?
Today's small things so far.
1. Found 20p roadkill
2. Line dried 2 loads of washing
3. Took the kids to the park for an hour and a half this morning which was lots of fun and gave OH time to do the whole house hoover it so badly needed.
4. Have my big joint of pork in the oven on a low heat to do pulled pork for dinner. Think it will last for days as its a whopper.
5. Cycled to work and back
6. Making home made coleslaw
Think thats it so far. Still have to cycle another errand. Do a bit of weeding and pack away all the dry clothing. DS has a leaflet to prepare on the computer for his homework. Then bed!
Bye for now

Evening Sunday Savers,
Didn't particularly set out for a money saving day but it's not been too bad at all.
*Had day trip to lovely gorge/caves just over the border into the next county. Used the last of my May Personal Spends on a scrummy warm cheese scone & big mug of coffee. Took picnic lunch with us for later which was a saving & we were pleased to discover parking still only £3 for all day.
*Called at garden centre to buy last compost I should need this year. Bought the own-brand one on offer.
*Mr f treated me at local ice-cream parlour on the way home :-)
*Weeded the broad beans, tied them up with string for support & hung some old CDs from nearby tree to discourage naughty pigeons.
*Read electricity & gas meters & updated spreadsheets. Got Summer-Autumn's sheets ready. Figures showing nice reduction now. This is the time of year it really pays us to watch those little bits of energy wastage as we all benefit by going into the Winter months with a decent wodge of credit on our energy accounts.
*Put a wash on timer for overnight cheap tariff.
*Packed lunch made for tomorrow. ....he decided to take home-made soup from the freezer & while he was armpit deep in there, he discovered some beef chunks & a large pork stew at the back which we'd forgotten about.
*Two baths from 1 lot of hot water.
*Leftover fish pie for dinner which I made yesterday.
*Diaries to be synchronised for the week ahead. Being organised always ends up saving us money.
*Watered veggie garden.
Bum now welded to chair for rest of evening.

Cat sorry to hear about your husband's broken ankle. How long until he is able to put any weight on it again?
My Nan passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of Sunday morning, she had been unwell for the last few months which had resulted in going into hospital for a couple of weeks and then moving into a home. She lived by herself until earlier this year and was fiercely independent. I have lots of fond memories of my Nan and so do my children. Her death has hit me harder than I thought it would as she was my last remaining Grandparent and not only have I been mourning her death but that of my other Grandparents as well. Six months ago both my Grandma's were alive and now they have left us. I am in my forties and how ever much I understood that I was very fortunate to have any Grandparents still alive I still could never quite accept that their would be a time when they would not be there.
My sister came over this afternoon for to take some time to remember.
My dd has already mentioned that Nan would be with us at Christmas and she will miss her _pale_ _pale_Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
