yes im aware of the rights etc you mentioned.i have now gone through the finance company london and surrey and then above them to the british credit trust.who have asked me to email them with full info and request a refund and reject the car.i have just sent it by email and printed a copy and sent it to them by recorded post..
just have to wait and see now.
there is a few of our belongings in the car still id like back but theres no way im going down there to collect them so ill mention that in my next conversation with the finance peeps.
i said at the very start something wasnt right about the dealer, the man was clearly into dodgy deals as their called by the conversations i overheard him having,i mentioned it to hubby but you know what fellas are like with a new toy..
now one good thing is i get the pleasure of saying
"i told you so.."again lol0 -
First stop should be the policesecond the C.A.B
This is very serious now0 -
I would also urge you to contact the police - you don't have to ask them to do anything about it, but I think it is important to have your concerns recorded. If it should happen again, it will help that the first incident was noted.0

They'll all ignore you.
I assume he offered to grind off the numbers because you complained that the number would not match the one on the log book?0 -
when we had to have a new engine all we did is send the log book in with the new number filled in. dvla then updated it.
Why would he have to grind numbers off unless he wasnt going to give you a new engine? And was going to recondition your broken old one and pretend it was a new one?0 -

yes and that was our thoughts exactly,.hubby enquired about the engine number as he was worried a different engine number would cause him problems if stopped by police or whatever, and the reason he asked was quite simply as he didnt know.and the way the dealer responded wasnt right.
again today we are having problems,we have managed to find a copy of the autotrader with the original advert that trading standards suggest we get to show that no faults were on the advert.but the british credit place has said the faults that occured could of happened at anytime and so its not possible to have a refund..what a big pile of s*it.excuse my language but this is really annoying me now.
you buy of a dealer.get credit through an apparently good finance company yet when things go wrong they dont give a s*it.
im thinking now small claims court.but we dont have the money to pay for a solicitor or the court costs cos the damn dealer has it,so what do we do??0 -

How can you take him to court when he offered to repair the car??0 -
He has the car ,is refusing to repair the engine,or give us a refund of any kind.
its your right if something isnt to satisfactory condition or fit for its purpose to have a refund and to reject the car.but hes doing nothing but phoning and swearing.0 -
i have now got the original advert from autotrader and uploaded it to send the credit peeps.and a letter from a qualified mechanic that checked the car before we took about the engine
you can see the mechanics letter here
