It's official, it was announced that house prices will be at least £2,000 lower if we exit the EU.
So a vote for leave means getting on the property ladder will be easier!
On that good news good house hunting fj

You clearly haven't understood anything of what that meant...0 -

How's that going to work, then? On June 24 (assuming the vote is for Brexit) will all the Estate Agents have to discount each property on their books by by £2000?
Have you thought this through :rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
It will make very little difference either way. Unlike many modern countries we are short of space, they aren't making any more ground, loads of people want to live here, and money is cheap.
So over time it will only go one way and that is up. Yes there will be dips and stagnation occasionally, but over a 10 year period its up all the way.0 -

It's not me that predicts this, it's The Centre for Economics and Business Research. Take it up with them.
And what is so wrong with a fall in house prices to help all those youngsters out there?

I'd imagine your post-brexit 2 grand will be somewhat offset by lack of available mortgages as banks and the economy tanks into recession...0

You beat me to it. I was going to say that if house prices drop nationally, there will have to be some bad economic news to precede such a fall.
But surely, the decision ought to be based on much longer term objectives.0 -

Oh, i thought you were being ironic? Well, I'd agree with the analysis but not the cause, any the fall will be caused not by fewer immigrants but by the economy crashing and putting lots of people out of jobs. And jobs drive house prices. So no it wont help all those youngsters.0
