My E7/Heating solution!

Thanks. I can see this being a benefit with traditional storage heaters for sure, but my concern on this point is that Quantum seems to be specifically set around the low rate heating being at night, what with its "out all day", "in all day" settings etc...If I'm in all day will it actually allow me to output heat at the same time as it's charging for instance? And similarly, if I tell it I'm in all day won't it automatically assume that the end of the charging period (usually 7am, but 7pm in my case) is the morning, and then keep the place warm all night instead? Its smart features then become a little less useful...I'll get onto my supplier and see if they'll do anything, though I appreciate this is unlikely.0

Thanks everyone so much who has chipped in with advice and help on this thread, it really is hugely appreciated.
When I first put my offer in on the flat many months ago, I looked into storage heating and Dimplex Quantum came up all the time. Well, after much research during the intervening months and from reading many threads on this forum including this one, and going through numerous options, I have decided to go for one.
So my actual solution now after all this is as follows:
Main living space - 1 Dimplex QM150, with another one added when budget allows and if it's needed.
2 bedrooms and study - Basic panel beaters on timers to come on for an hour or so in the morning, and an hour or so at night. A small basic storage heater could be added to the study if needed on a timer on the standard 13amp circuit. An E7 line will be put into the main bedroom that I'll be renting out in case the lodger spends a lot of time in there, in which case I will put a small Quantum in there. An E7 line already exists in my bedroom, so I've always got that option too further down the line.
I want to test how it works out over next winter, and then I'll take any steps required if it doesn't work out.
I'll try and add an update later on in the year!Aqua cashback card - used regularly, paid off in full every month
Barclaycard reward points card - used regularly, paid off in full every month.0 -
