My E7/Heating solution!

The quantum wont care when the charge period is. It is even stated to be able to accept input from irregular (renewables) sources, so it will take charge at any time. Also, E10 has charge periods in the afternoon which I'm sure the Quantum can handle just fine.

Thanks everyone so much who has chipped in with advice and help on this thread, it really is hugely appreciated.

When I first put my offer in on the flat many months ago, I looked into storage heating and Dimplex Quantum came up all the time. Well, after much research during the intervening months and from reading many threads on this forum including this one, and going through numerous options, I have decided to go for one.

So my actual solution now after all this is as follows:

Main living space - 1 Dimplex QM150, with another one added when budget allows and if it's needed.
2 bedrooms and study - Basic panel beaters on timers to come on for an hour or so in the morning, and an hour or so at night. A small basic storage heater could be added to the study if needed on a timer on the standard 13amp circuit. An E7 line will be put into the main bedroom that I'll be renting out in case the lodger spends a lot of time in there, in which case I will put a small Quantum in there. An E7 line already exists in my bedroom, so I've always got that option too further down the line.

I want to test how it works out over next winter, and then I'll take any steps required if it doesn't work out.

I'll try and add an update later on in the year!
