Moved address, forgot to inform various companies

If your moving again soonish, I personally wouldn't bother changing the addresses with the banks etc. Just wait until you've moved, as long as you're still getting all of your post I can't see that it would be a big issue. The big one I think is the DVLA which you've changed as I believe there can be a fine on that (although I remember not changing the address with them for years after I left home and nothing came of it).
The main thing is that you still get everything and receive your post. I wouldn't be that concerned to be honest.0 -

I believe with DVLA you merely need to give them an address you're contactable at, so the parent's address would count; it's how students get around it etc. xxx0

I'm on the case, done the driving licence and most banks. Worried about the credit rating though, although this is based on me rather than my address, surely?0
-
I would also add - if you have a car - the DVLA department for car tax and whatever the registration document is called - this is separate from the driving licence and they need their own notification, don't know why DVLA departments don't talk to each other but they don't and you have to send a separate letter to each -
and any insurance company you deal with, e.g. car insurance, house insurance and the rest.0 -
When are you moving?I would also add - if you have a car - the DVLA department for car tax and whatever the registration document is called - this is separate from the driving licence and they need their own notification, don't know why DVLA departments don't talk to each other but they don't and you have to send a separate letter to each -
You don't need a separate letter, simply fill in the V5C for the vehicle, and for driving licence not sure as counterpart is no longer in use, since I moved. I put mine in same envelope, sure they would redirect to correct department, as they are official documents and not a random letter. I had both back with new address.0 -
The last 3 times I have moved I put the V5C and driving licence both in the same envelope and each time DVLA/DVLC lost one of them and I had to get on the phone and moan about it and it was DVLA/DVLC themselves who told me to send them separately, which I now do.
One time they sent me back a provisional licence which took some time to sort out.0 -

You are kidding, right??
OP you sound as bad as the person who we bought our house from.
It's been 3 and a half years since we completed on our house yet we still get mobile phone bills/new phone contract letters with direct debit details on etc for the previous owner.
First thing I did when we moved was a change of address list and worked my way through it, starting with the most important things such as banks, work, mobile providers, utility bills etc.
That said I even set up a Royal Mail redirect for 3 months just incase I'd missed anything out.
Beggars belief why people "forget" about these things............"The truth is of course is that there is no journey.
We are arriving and departing all at the same time."0
