Now TV Plc's active company registration number is 09158142 according to Companies House. Link below for your information.

But thats different to the company number that is party to my contract - which never mentions 'NOW TV PLC'. If a trading name is somehow another entity, it needs a separate registration as a trading name (this is not possible as it is a TRADING name), you can't point to a NOW TV PLC because its not party to any contract with consumers and you can't contract by reference because of the doctrine of privity of contract.0 -

Please don't confuse the OP with facts as he knows he's correct despite them.0 -

You purchased the box 13 months ago, Sales of Goods Act applies and not Consumer Rights Act. So what you posted is irrelevant in your situation.
I have bought a product and took out a service contract and I have made recurring purchases through the product after the 01 Oct 2015 - see new digital content provision in CRA 2015 and guidance on mixed contracts.0 -

Warren, it is often cheaper to source Now TV deals yourself as there are so many from different retailers. I hate throwing away working kit, but the box is not worth much, as like you say the savings on monthly fees are often worth more than the box. If you look on HUKD there are deals like £25 in Tesco for the box and 4 months movies. The movies should be £9.99 a month so getting this deal and even throwing away the Nov Tv box if you already have one saves you £15 on the subscription over the 4 months. I have seen better deals than this in the past.0 -

No different to purchasing a mobile phone on a contract and the phone developing a fault after 13 months. If the mobile became faulty today, you would still need to satisfy the conditions of the SOGA. Makes no difference that you are also paying a subscription for a service to be used on that product.
Maybe you could specifically state which part of the CRA you are referring to.0 -

On the OP's thread over at NowTV a member has even offered to send him a brand new unused box.
Something tells me the OP is going to pursue this, wasting a lot of time, energy and potentially money only to be officially told he is wrong.0 -
Erm, under EU law isn't something supposed to last for 2 years?
That said, the NowTV box itself is really a throwaway item (I gave one to a colleague a few months back) and the amount is small.
I think you can even get a NowTV app to run on other things.0 -

I don't use the Now Tv box as I prefer to use the Now Tv app on my Apple Tv and tablet. I do think it is silly that often they do better deals with the box as that means the box is a throw away item.0
