Where have all these entitled people come from? "I can't afford to buy a house where I want to live so therefore I because I am entitled the taxpayers must provide me with one."
I was one of those people who had to move areas and job in order to buy my first house.0 -
I think the opportunities are already equal and I think your opinion that they aren't is what has put you at odds with some of the other forum members.
I do understand where you're coming from. Ownership seems pretty far away for me right now but I have two options. I can accept that my lifestyle does not accommodate home ownership or I can change my circumstances so that they do. That's the crux of why people have taken issue with your tone. Those two choices are both available to me (and you). The opportunity is there if we want to take it.
What doesn't endear you to the forum is that you come across as wanting to have your cake and eat it. You don't want to make the effort but still expect the reward.
As it turns out it HAS fallen into your lap so for all your previous hardships you have had a stroke of luck. Worry less about everyone else and focus on that.
Also I remember reading somewhere that marksoton is an idiot troll so don't worry about him :rotfl:
Joe, i feel i have been hard done by in the past and that my generations housing options in general have been a joke, you included, but this new law has evened things up as I said before – so I do feel as though things are ok now – the post wasn’t to moan, its already law, just to discuss with others about when it would come into effect.
And I don’t really understand why people are being so hostile to someone they don’t know at all on a public forum, unless they just profound clowns and buffoons I don’t care but I wish they would do it elsewhere – it is annoying when trying to have serious, and happy discussion, if they get enjoyment from it they surely need to grow up or drop dead.
I’m not sure how someone can have a tone over email , people interpret this with whichever emotion they feel , if they are angry they will read it as angry responses, they just need to pay attention to the words though there weren't oto many in the initial post.
If I read you right though im again a little shocked, so these people think that I don’t deserve to own a house, and are disgusted that I have the opportunity ? (yet don't have the balls to speak their mind) – I knew there were bitter people out there but I think that’s a bit far, you really think that someone working all his life should not be able to buy a house, even on a ‘better than average wage’ , is that a reality now ? Can people not better themselves - I assumed that progressing in my career was changing my circumstances - or is it , once on the social and am stupid enough to go to work , im a rent fodder for life ?
I really had no idea that the sort of entities that raised their heads in this thread even exited in society , although I doubt that they would spout their malignant negative views in real life perhaps it’s just one of their multiple internet personalities that is their current excuse for one.
The equal opportunities thing is with any social help given(or was), if you are not aware the government ‘equal opportunities’ thing puts a single white working male at the bottom of list for everything – if that’s you then you may as well not bother, that's the definition of equal if ever i heard it - I had to really push to be housed it was stressful and not a great time for me at all, it took a year , I wouldn’t wish it on anyone but its been the only thing in my life to give me an opportunity , above the career i have achieved so far , which is just so wrong, people should focus on bettering themselves not relying on shortcuts but going by which works , they people will be focusing on the wrong things to get anywhere in life.
I admit its not the same bag for everyone, but its life its unfair on everyone at some point, and i'm just a man in a world making the best of what i have been given, i would help anyone maximize their chances too , even trolls, when they finally give in to their real feelings and take off the mask.
speaking of which, as he has gone, he obviously wont reply to this but MARKSOTON , may well be an established member of the community, and obviously there is a big on going joke with him being a !!!! and trying to pass it off as trolling or similar, I don’t care, i'm not a member of your community so the jokes do not connect with me, and this is my thread , again you all know that , and its out of spite you try to wind people up, just generally being a nasty minded to innocent people who come on here to have a serious civil conversation, its negative and not good for your karma, try to get over the desire to be unpleasent and maybe good things will happen in your life eventually, something better than your ASBO
It’s been fun, but if there are no further relevant posts I won’t be responding again, you will have just done Martins forum a discredit with your inappropriate attitudes,
This is obviously not aimed at Joe, you all know who you are - i only asked a question after all, you should be ashamed and so should Martin if your like represent the forum !
Maybe i should suggest the ability for posters to ban certain users from the thread , hopefully they would sort themselves out then if the OP had the power stop their 'fun', and they should get the shame badge to go with it !
And of course if any one has any info on the original topic , feel free to pm me - also happy to discuss in slightly more sane environment if all this unpleasantness has stopped you posting on the thread - sorry about that !0 -

ok im back , just saw these
Im sorry for you , that would have been me if this law was not passed , im so glad it wasn't.
Its called Right to buy , its nothing new thousand and thousands of people purchased property this way, its how most of this generations parents became home owners (not mine incidentally)
its not too late though, try to get a ha property and you can buy it too, you will have to live there for 10 years though
Any its not that I cant afford, i have already been told my wage is bad, its that everyone cant afford the whole market is a disaster and no one can buy, this is a step towards correcting things.
And i already had to remind people once, i am of course ea tax payer as are all of my family , maybe our tax money should only be used to fund people on benefits to have free housing and pocket money everyday - is that better?
You are bitter , you have a right be though as this country has royally !!!!ed you over and you didn't have any other option than to move
And where have i come from , i have been working, paying rent , paying taxes, suffering at the hands of HAs , and now my time has arrived - its just as far as im concerned and the most part of the country considering that is the main reason conservatives were voted !0 -

This doesn't look flippant "Buy to let should be banned, all second homes sold i think, unless they pay double for them, that would sort things out"
Or did it become flippant once its obvious it was a stoopid remark?
this guy .....
Yes it was flippant , do you really think i planned out and entire rental /ownership policy for the country during the time i made that post.
Can you make yourself look like any more of an idiot ? , oh wait you just said 'stoopid'
You are failing at trolling and making an idiot of yourself like mark , he has gone i suggest you do to as you revealing your trollgina increasingly more with every cringe-able post of utter rubbish you bash through your dirty computer keyboard,
Get a grip, take a step back and read your posts when you have calmed down, the feculence splodge across this forum makes be believe you are the resident forum muck-spreader.
Talk on topic or just leave, you embarrassment0 -

Another one, yawn
What a dire forum this has become0 -
This bill is hideous. Not only is the extension of the RTB to HA's included but also the vicious pay to stay and the forced sale of high value voids.
These are nasty, insidious policies; Cameron tries to tell us that he is encouraging 'aspirations' but that is patently nonsense. Pay to stay will penalise people that can't afford to buy (or are too old) - even with the RTB - but work and earn a reasonable salary without needing benefits. The forced sale of high value voids will cost Council's millions of pounds. This will have a significant knock on effect for every single person. Council's will have to cut back on services far and wide.
Still, as long as you get a cheapo house, eh?0 -

Shouldn't social housing be reserved to those who really need it?
The others can rent in the private sector.
It is fair to make those who earn quite in excess of the national average pay market rents. In fact I would even favour asking them to leave altogether to free space for those who really need it.
Social housing should be for those who cannot afford private housing.0 -

It's not as simple as whether someone can afford social housing or not. That is far too simplistic a view, unfortunately. You've not really thought it through - but then, nor has David Cameron.0 -

Basically you're saying that you're right and that everyone else is wrong and hasn't thought it through... Very constructive.0
