well i've just made some and there now in the firdge cooling down. omg how simple. the longest part i think was un-wrapping all the toffee's. looks just like the shop bought one's. so will have to report back after a taste test.
if there nice i can already think up loads of variations on this recipe:j0 -
Ive actually made one this morning with the 'cheap' coco pops' I tried to foist onto my eldest in a real coco pops box!
It didnt work. So I melted 4 mars bars, a little butter, golden syrup.
threw in the coco pops and also some kellogs special K nuts and honey,(werent going down too well)
I now have 24 squares approx 1 inch thick of yummy, chewy stuff.
and it cost approx 9p per square.:T £2.00 coin saver number 059

Can anyone help please ?
i had a recipe for rice crispie squares type bar's. only i can't find it now. i love these but don't really wanna be paying 50p for them if i can make them myself.
i know the recipe asked for dairy toffee and marshmellows and of course rice crispies. but after that i'm stuck and also i don't know what to do:rotfl:
can anyone please help me.
Thanks in advance.

I used to make a recipe very similar to this one. It was also an Annabel Karmel but it's almost identical to this one (her recipes are very repetitive) I used sunflower seeds instead of the nuts and it had dried apricots rather than the fruit se specifies in this recipe. It was made in a rectangular tin and cut into bars. It was very popular with my kids;)0

white choc layer
2oz butter
1 tbl sp golden syrup
5 1/2 oz white choc
1 3/4 oz rice crispies
plain/ milk choc layer
2 oz butter
2 tbl sp golden syrup
4 1/2 oz choc
2 3/4 oz rice crispies
method
grease a 8 inch square cake tin and line with baking paper
to make white layer
melt the white choc, butter and g/s over a pan of simmering water, remove from heat when all melted then add cereal, press into prepared tin and smooth the surface
do the same for the plain choc layer
chill in the fridge until hardened
lift out of tin and using a sharp knife cut into pieces
i usualy use margerine for this or block stork and it works just as well
I made this today and it is fab, and my 2 kids and oh love it, and say it tastes so much nicer than just making them with melted chocolate. I didn't have any golden syrup so used maple syrup instead and it was delicious. The kids have requested some in their lunch boxes tomorrow. Thank you so much because I made it with some cheap rice crispies that the kids don't like, so sssh, what they don't know won't hurt them :rotfl: :rotfl: !!!2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family. It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,0000 -

AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!
This board is terrible!
I have no choice but to make Elly2's recipe - especially having seen a snappy of them!"Finish each day And be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and Absurdities have crept in.
Forget them as soon as you can."
