tesco do there own version of mars bars would these work just as well ? i love the idea of trying mars bars instead of chocolate.
  • I made elly2's as I had all the ingredients in the pantry. Will definitely try with mars bars at a later date. They've been taken to DS's Scout camp, so will get a tasting verdict later today, but the *scraps* from the cake tin were lovely.

Thanks to everyone who replied, Penny. x

We buy the tescos versions of bounty/twix/ mars/snickers and they are really good.( prefer the twixy ones) I particularly like the ones in the bags as they are that bit smaller than normal twixes and the bag of 16 is about 80p- bargain compared to a normal twix

Id reckon the tesco version of mars would work well.

Penny, they look gorgous. Im dieting tho and this doesnt help :wall: WHY am I still frequenting OS :rotfl:

Lidls own mars bars work well too.

Also, I melt dairy milk and spread that over the top and chill until its set.

I took them into work once and they really loved them!! Not such a good move really as now whenever its my turn to bring in goodies, guess what they want!!

This is my recipe for rice crispie tray bake - very fattening but delicious!!!!

    3oz butter
    3 mars bars
    3 cups of rice crispies
    200g milky bar
    extra 1oz butter.

Melt the 3oz of butter and the mars bars together. Mix with the rice crispies, and spread into your tin.

Melt the 1oz butter and the milky bar, then spread on top of the mars bar mixture.

Place into the fridge until hard, then cut into squares.
