Fleas and ticks

It says on the box that it's for treatment or prevention of mixed parasitic infections and includes flea, biting lice, and a host of parasitic worms. It's available online or from a Vet and yes, it does need a prescription unfortunately.0

We used Advantage initially as that was what vet recommended until R picked up the odd tick and harvest mites when we changed her to frontline which deals with those (under vet advice). I think 3 month supply is about £25 from vet. She also gets milbemax wormer0

Is milbemax the single pill which also covers Lungworm? I've a feeling one of my dogs had this the last time as they'd already been Frontlined and couldn't have another dose of spot-on treatment so soon afterwards.0

I have £40 collars for my dogs (well, £38!). They are sadly only available on prescription as can be bought online for half the price.
They are Seresto collars. Treat fleas and ticks and last for 7-8 months.
1 dog has sensitive skin and can't have spot on's and this worked out cheaper than tablets.0 -
Because Seresto collars are designated Prescription Medicine you have to pay a consultation/prescription fee to the vet. Hence the cost.
Depending on how much your vet charges to give you a prescription you may be able to get one cheaper by paying for a prescription and buying online.
Scalibor collars are available without a prescription and mine cost £13 each. They last for 6 months, which is fine for ticks where I live.
Monthly flea treatment, if you need it, would be extra.0 -

Yes it does. Given every 3 months and at least a week separate to the flea/tick treatment0 -
Thank you, that sounds like what my dog had last time.0

I put a scalibor collar on my dog last year, as he is always getting ticks, and I have changed the tick protection as it wasnt working, but the collar made him loose all the fur around his neck and it didnt suit him at all.
I have also tried milbemax wormer and it made my dog bleed from his back passage, so dont use that again.
The vets have suggested a new chewable tablet called bravecto, but is on prescription only.0
