Buying a fancy car

By the way, something can't be more unique or less unique than another thing. It's either unique, or it isn't - and unique means it's one of one. Not, as in the Mustang's case or that of any other mass-produced car, one of many.
To see whether buying a second car for pleasure would be worth it.....0 -

You quoted my post but didn't actually read it properly did you?
If you did you would realise that you have just rewritten what I wrote.
To put it in simpler terms.
If a UK buyer buys a RHD Mustang he can't have a V8.
If a UK Buyer buys a LHD Mustang and imports it to the UK he can have a V8.
Why would you want a non V8 muscle car?
Isn't that as pointless as a 1.3 Capri?0 -

I think you've misread his post. To put it in simple terms:
You can walk into a UK Ford dealer and order a 5.0V8, RHD Mustang.
Like this one, £37K inc. extras:

Ford Mustang that won't come with a V8 unless you import a US spec one in LHD
WRONG. You CAN have a UK V8 Mustang as of this new model.
Anyway, a Yaris M3 S-Line is all the car anyone needs.0 -

Well @"@"@"" me.
That's what I get for believing what I read in a magazine, and in TopGear!0 -
I think you are thinking of the V6, which isn't available in the UK.
No it was definitely the V8.
The comment on TG was by Clarkson if I remember correctly. I think it came up during the News segment of the show.
If I couldn't afford the V8 I wouldn't buy the Ecoboost version. No point having a muscle car with a four pot engine in it, IMHO0 -

My "dream" car was a Ford Focus. However, one time I drove my friends car. He had a Golf we a stupidly large engine like a 3.8 or 4ltr. I put my foot down on the motorway and I could feel my back go into the chair and it us an experience that I am looking to have again.
Back on topic, I currently drive a Fiesta. I have had my eye on the new Mustang ever since they announced it. It looks amazing and I would think I would get there back in the chair feeling again as well. Funny thing is, my new job requires me to drive a lot, especially on motorways and ironically this has put me off buying a Mustang and caring about having a faster car.
Reason is, admittedly in my Fiesta I average 85-90MPH on the motorway and no matter what car I have, I would be driving no faster unless I wanted to get points on my licence. The Mustang would be more expensive to insure, I will have to worry about parking it at home as we have no drive and parking it in general as it's a much longer car will be a pain. Essentially, it feels like what I would be buying would be the aesthetics and the initial acceleration but I am still going to be getting to places at the same time.
Just wanted to know if anyone here has upgraded from a fairly modest car and felt if it was worthwhile. Or even the opposite
you're describing a feeling you have for a car and it's all down to taste and nobody here can help you answer that. What I would say is 90mph in a corsa will feel quite different on a audi a5 or any mid range sedan. The noise dampening will be better and the longer wheelbase will make the car feel a lot more sturdy at that speed.
Obviously an a5 will have a bite more creature comforts tover a fiesta. Much comfortable seats. more driving position options etc.0 -
Having driven a similar car (Camaro, the Chevrolet equivalent), you'll want to go on a longish test drive and try parking it - visibilty all round is pretty awful, the ride isn't that great, and everything feels pretty cheap.
Unbelievably fast in a straight line though, and maximum smile factor, but take a while to convince yourself you could live with it on a day to day basis.0
