Ally so sorry for that spoiling your day. I didn't know about your house fire but can imagine how awful something like that would be. Do hope DW feels better soon.
Dawn I think it was you posting about home made burgers the other day with green Thai curry paste in? They sounded gorgeous.
Thanks Cat but sadly not yet. We had another shocking night which makes 3 in a row that I've barely slept now and I have to say I do feel lousy. We have just be her be sick again over lunchtime. Her temp isn't high enough to be a worry but clearly something isn't right. At this age it could be teething, a cold, or who knows.
Haven't been very money saving today as we went out for coffee. Well groceries and coffee. Although DS did find £1 down the side of his seat in Costalota and someone's driving license which we handed in. I was about to buy DH and I a cake each with the money I had but DS decided he wanted a BLT. I hate paying £4 for a small sandwich and that meant no cake for us but he has been so side lined by his sister's illness and affect on us of being so tired with no energy for him that I felt guilted into it.
Also ended up buying him a £5 Teenage Mutant Ninja turtle DVD in the supermarket. Under same principle. I do hate how guilty I feel about buying a couple of small treats to make my child happy. But I suppose that's how it is when you start on this DFW trail.
Anyway. If I get 10 minutes I'm going to try and do a bit of weeding later. The front garden looks a shock.
Bye for now.

Well. I got a grip after my pity party and have
- weeded one whole boarder of the front garden. Disposed of 6 sacks full of weeds. My rosemary bushes can now breathe and grow again.
- Put another load out on the line to dry.
- Got son to help me do massive clear up in the front room. This involved asking him to go through his dressing up box and toys on a 'kill or keep' basis. We kept DD happy by putting her in front of a big bag of toys she hadnt played with before.
- OH in the meantime found the box of cot bolts we needed to put the cot together with so he's off doing that now.
Final jobs before we all settle down for hopefully an earlyish quiet night are
- hauling all the winter stuff from the hall box declutter upstairs and into cupboards in relevant rooms
- hauling the eBay piles upstairs to the office/holding room
- Putting the pizza on
- Getting the washing in
- Bathtime and reading book completed by son
And that's it!
P.S for those of you who laugh with me on my roadkill finds, I found 1p in the garden earlier whilst weeding. Fairly sure it's a very dirty penny but if I've discovered a Roman hoarde I'll be back to share my millions" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Hello Sunday Savers,
Well I haven't been much of a Sunday Saver today, but here are my small things:
*Took picnic on our day out to North Yorkshire.....which helped offset us treating ourselves in eye-wateringly expensive coffee shop.
*Found 10p roadkill.
*Talked ourselves out of a takeaway.
*Spent 40 mins synchronising our diaries & updating calendar. Being orgsnised always saves me money.
*Watered greenhouse veggies.
*Washer on timer for cheap overnight load of bedlinen.
*Made tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Read energy meters.
*2 items sold overnight on ebay :-)
Just need to pop my tomato plants back under cover & pick some salad for dinner, then it's bum in chair with a good book time.
Love to all,

Bob
They are easy Bob. You need:
500g or thereabouts of pork mince (I use a lower fat one, but this is a personal choice)
1 small red onion chopped finely
2 tbsp Thai green curry paste
Salt and pepper
I chop the onion in the processor and then add the other ingredients, blitz briefly till combined. Shape into burgers (this will make 4 decent sized ones). I use a burger press thingy from Lakeland that I have had forever, but you can just do it by hand, you may need a bit of flour to avoid sticking if you do this. Then just cook as usual - as a catering person you will of course know that pork needs to be thoroughly cooked, but just in case anyone less experienced is reading ..... Anyway, they can be grilled, dry fried or griddled or BBQ'ed
I serve in flatbreads or toasted buns, with salad and coriander mayonnaise, which is just mayo combined with finely chopped coriander leaves and seasoning. You can drizzle with sweet chilli sauce too, if you want a bit of extra heat.
I can't remember where I got this idea from, so can't provide a link or reference - one of those passed on by a friend who got it from another friend etcNever met anyone who doesn't like them though

Unfortunately, the school work has taken up most of my time today. It is exam season, and I'm pretty much full on for the next couple of months, but by the time the 6 weeks hols tick round then it's a nice little bit of extra cash to help us to do some fun stuff. Plus, in what is becoming an annual tradition, naughty tortie is going to need further expensive veterinary work for the 3rd year in a row... Just gotta keep swimming. Not giving up

Hi May Marvellous-oes,
Managed to do a couple of MSE things today.
DW's blood pressure has returned to normal. Thanks for the kind messages.
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:
* Reconciled finances.
* Lay upon sofa dozing and watching tv until 5pm. Bank card remaining in wallet.
* Counted cost of adventures in Glasgow. Spent £12 more than planned as we had to go up by bus and come back by train. (The joys of rural transport.) However, it was worth it.
* I carry my loose change in an Ikea zip-lock plastic bag so I can take it through company security with me at work. (Don't ask! Daft company policy.) Discovered a hole in bag and all my coins in the bottom of my rucksack. Replaced said bag before I lose something.
* Started process of claiming compensation for wonky train journey.
* Continued argument with Samsung who don't see any problem with their rubbish customer service.
* Had a rough look at June's budget.
* Bought a copy of last night's opera on DVD from ebay for £2.92 delivered so DW can see how it ends as we missed 25 mins of it. Cheaper than running out of broadband data watching it online and having to pay a £15 supplement.
* Sunday lunch was M&S meat bought with loyalty vouchers. So essentially free.
How about you folks?

Ah Dawn bit of a touchy subject that. To be fair to DH he hasnt been well but its down to me at the moment to work as many extra hours as I can. I am thinking about using some of my audit money and a voucher I have had for ages to buy myself a new digital camera, I wont get a very expensive one but I love taking photos and I feel like I can justify it. We have got a few family occasions this year and its not the same using your phone for photos.
Oh and havent made HM burgers for ages, might try that later in the week!0 -
This weekend I have:
Sewn on a button on my coat and the button back in one of my jeans.
Taken advantage of the listing offers from eBay and relisted all the items.
Worked from home and caught up with translation cuttings

I use a Panasonic Lumix myself, when I'm not [STRIKE]stealing[/STRIKE] borrowing one of DW's fancy cameras. It's a DMC-SZ3. (Link) Comes fitted with a lovely Leica lens. And is wee enough to fit in your pocket. It was £90 from John Lewis. Not too complicated to work, but you can use it to create a few effects quite easily, or jusy leave it on Auto and just point and shoot.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0
