Is this ("MSC address", "IHD".. n2rgy ..etc) something - part of a procedure - that everyone that installs a smart meter has to understand and come to terms with?Telegraph Sam

I wonder if it suits anyone at the moment. My first two weeks on Go Faster have resulted in a considerable saving vs Agile. Agile prices may still come down yet, but I doubt I will come to regret switching tariffs.bristolleedsfan said:Clearly Agile/Time of use tariff will not suit everybody
Agile remains a popular choice for those with a decent amount of solar export and low net imports as they have access to the Octopus Agile outgoing tariff which can be is a lot better for them than the other SEG tariffs.

No. It is just a way of checking whether your smart meter is actually sending data. For example, consumers can check whether a SMETS1 meter has been enrolled/adopted on to the DCC hub. The IHD is simply the display that allows you to monitor usage and costs.Telegraph_Sam said:Is this ("MSC address", "IHD".. n2rgy ..etc) something - part of a procedure - that everyone that installs a smart meter has to understand and come to terms with?0 -
looks like you've missed the boat for octopus go Sam, all prices have gone up by about 2p/kwh from today, so no need to change that meter!!Telegraph_Sam said:Is this ("MSC address", "IHD".. n2rgy ..etc) something - part of a procedure - that everyone that installs a smart meter has to understand and come to terms with?

Phew, glad I was able to lock in 13.45p until the end of April 2022. My thanks to you and bristolleedsfan for repeatedly highlighting what a good deal that was.niktheguru said:

Likewise - fixed until 20th April 2022. I doubt I'll be switching back to Agile now, especially as I actually only saved around £13 over the last year by being on Agile rather than Go Faster 5H from 20:30. That was with the cheap Agile lockdown rates, too!masonic said:

How can you tell if your SMETS1 has been enrolled/adopted? I've signed up to n3rgy and can download consumption data - does that mean my meters are enrolled?[Deleted User] said:

Sam, how have you found your tracker experience.
I just received my first bill and I was pleasantly surprised, it wasn't as bad as i was expecting.
During the month period, my kw/h rate averaged out at 16.26p
gas fared around 3.1p/kwh (which wasn't particularly great)
Saying that though, i've worked out on the average day, octopus go faster has been costing me 12.6p/kwh, and on those days where I charge my EV, it is as low as 8p/kwh.
I suspect I will switch my gas out to a cheaper provider on a fix/variable rate....but may give it another month. Though the rates have been nearer 4p/kwh this month!!

Funny that you say this, I could almost echo it word for word. I have however been keeping an eye on my "annualised" daily Tracker rates since then and I fear that the next bill could be other than a pleasant surprise. I may even have to abandon Tracker in favour of a fixed rate (with of course the inevitable consequence ..) unless there is a reversal - but Octopus's own forecasts whilst low have been edging up steadily recently. I'd be interested to know what you do with gas.
Am I the only one that cannot scroll to the bottom of the [MSE] page when using Chrome? I have had to switch to Edge in order to write this.Telegraph Sam

I suspect I will switch out gas to another provider. The tracker "forecasts" are not accurate, and even if you look at what it thinks the rate will be next week or month, its a total underestimate.
Chrome working fine for me.0
