The URL I gave you has a straightforward description of the tariffs you were asking about - no cleverness needed.

Telegraph_Sam said:is there a link somewhere to a simple overview / explanation of the differences between Agile, Go and Go Faster which crop up in this forum?
Agile:
Requires smart meter
30min readings taken from your smart meter
Different rates throughout the day depending on wholesale rates, at 30min pricing intervals.
4-7pm generally peak rates, capped at 35p/kwh
Prices can go very low at non peak times, can occasionally go negative, similarly prices can be very high outside "4-7" too.
Standing charge approx 21p a day
Generally requires you to adapt how you use energy to save money.
Go:
Requires a smart meter
2 rates. a Peak rate and an off peak rate.
Off peak rate = 5 p --> between 00:30 and 4:30
Peak rate = between 13-14p currently (the exact value depends upon where in the country you live)
Standing charge = 25p a day
Once switched to the tariff these prices are FIXED for a year. No fluctuation depending on wholesale price. No variations in price.
Tend to be catered towards EV drivers, people with batteries, people with high night time usage.
HOWEVER at the moment, their peak rate is extremely competitive compared to most other fixed/variable rates so desirable to most. (tho the peak rate for new customers may be increased at any time.
Go faster:
Requires smart meter
2 rates, a peak rate and an off peak rate
Several "go faster" packages depending on what time you want your off peak rate to start, and how long you want it to last (3, 4 or 5 hours)
Standing charge = 25p a day
3 hour off peak rates are 4.5p/kwh
4 hour off peak rates are 5p/kwh
5 hour off peak rates are 5.5p/kwh
peak rate is between 13-14p/kwh (and is for all usage outside the 3/4/5 hr off peak)
The start time of the off peak rate varies from 8.30pm to 00.30am (which you choose at the beginning of the contract and is FIXED)
The length of the peak rate and the time it starts is fixed and chosen/allocated at the beginning of the contract.
This tariff may be more useful for people who want a cheaper rate in the evenings and wouldnt use the cheap rate in the wee hours of the morning.
Hope that clears things up.1 -
Lovely many thanks. I might at some point consider Go Faster as from 8.30 pm, The peak rate looks rather "cheap" in current circs! - if and when I decide to go for a smart meter. But 25 p /day (for gas also?) needs to be taken into account.Telegraph Sam
There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know0 -
The smart tariffs are electricity only. For gas you stay on tracker/fixed/variable.
If you considering go, then act fast as prices may increase.0 -

Up until I switched, Tracker was quite competitive for gas also. Now it's a different story. See what the summer has in store for us.Telegraph Sam

Welcome return today to somewhere near normality for Tracker electric. In the interim I was just looking through the many other "current" available tariffs, domestic and business. One of these caught my eye: "Tesla Lite Incoming October 2020 v1". Electric only: 11p / kwh and 0 p per day. Too good to be true? There must be a barrier that prevents us switching to this?Telegraph Sam

I guessed that there would be a few strings. I don't have a "Powerwall 2" nor do I know what this is. Is this a smart meter by a different name? But I do have solar panels (and a res elec supply)Telegraph Sam
