Interesting times .. Are you able to make a meaningful comparison between Agile and Tracker - daily average or what  would make more sense, monthly?
I don't have a month's worth of smart meter data yet, but the saving in April (to 11th) has been 0.5p/kWh on average. That's all been low-average prices. When prices spike, as they have now, I don't know how good or bad my usage profile will be compared to the Tracker price.
I'm grabbing all the data I can from the Octopus API, so I can run whatever comparisons I wish in the future, provided I can get the data for the tariffs I wish to compare. There's a basic comparison tool on the Guy Lipman website also.
Download Octopus Compare and you can compare all the Octopus tariffs and play at load shifting.

5p kwh rate for 4/5 hours is no use to you even though possibly slots from 2030 hours onwards  ??????

I might have said earlier that for me personally even a zero rate in the wee small hours is no use if I get hit by higher prices when I want to enjoy my kwh's later in the day, thank you, and for that I had concluded that Tracker was the least worst option.

I wouldn't be happy with the Go rate as that's 1.5p per unit more expensive than a cheap fix elsewhere.
Typically Go makes sense for those with significant daily EV charging needs as you'll struggle to find a 5p/kWh low rate matched with a 14p/kWh high rate on most other 'E7' type tariffs and no single rate tariff comes close if you have that EV charging need....

Surely more productive to compare with Go Tariff, Tracker tariff is mixture of those without smart meters, those who have no heavy usage to shift, relatively low/very low usage households
I wouldn't be happy with the Go rate as that's 1.5p per unit more expensive than a cheap fix elsewhere. If over the next few months I find I couldn't have realised a saving vs Go on either Agile or the Tracker, I'd be looking to leave Octopus (so far it is looking good). I'll need to review that in the context of what happens to wider energy prices.

Thanks, I hadn't looked at all the various Go Faster options, but the GO-3h-0330 at 4.5p could be of some benefit. I've been using 15% of my energy between 3:30-6:30 with the potential for that to be higher in winter. so that would bring the cost down to match the best whole of market fix (and only 0.1p more expensive than what I've achieved with Agile before this price spike).

Exactly. I'll be doing the bulk of my heavy usage tomorrow afternoon when it's close to 12p/kWh, which will keep the average down.
I'm afraid that's lost me. Surely that will be when prices are highest, at least as from 4 pm?

    I'm referring to the 13:30 - 16:00 period.

Thanks, that's a useful app. Suggests I've saved 12% being on Agile vs the best Go option so far (mainly due to the recent price plunge). I have a feeling that will change somewhat in the coming days. Shame it doesn't have the Tracker tariff (or at least I couldn't find it).

Some of the go faster tariffs aren't in the "wee hours". You can get 3, 4 or 5 hours of reduced price (4.5-6.5p/kwh) starting from 8.30pm, and then all other times is between 13 and 14p/kwh (at present) depending on where you live.

Classic balancing act / swings and roundabouts. I think my thought  balloon was not to get carried away by mini rates in the wee small hours when there would be precious little scope for taking advantage of them. Working out the trade-off with 4 - 7 pm main consumption on such a TOU tariff - compared with the same on Tracker -  is work for a mathematician with an app such as was referred to above. I hope the gentleman is reading this ...
