    Ryanair revisited
    I don't quite follow, sorry.
Did Octopus charge you a luggage surcharge on your flight to Malaga, and then lose your bag?
    Go on, we're all ears.

  • Several years later, 2023, I am trying to leave Utilities Warehouse. Been recommended Octopus Energy (friend and I also get £50 them in cash me in Energy). I like their website and the offers they make to use energy at certain times and save. And unlike UW they actually show the tariff rates on the website. How is it nowadays?
  • As with any company with several million customers, you will always find some unhappy people, and they generally make the most noise!

However, I have been with them for around 10 months now and I am very happy with them. On the couple of times I have phoned them, I have waited no more than a few minutes to get through to someone, and you get to speak to a human being rather than press 1 for this, 2 for that etc.

It's the official MSE thread for feedback about Octopus Energy.
  • Ah - non-Tracker. May be there are a few like this

  • Moved to Octopus when I moved to my flat in November 2023. Very complicated situation (storage heaters with 2 different meters & 3 readings, then moved to electric programmeable radiators with one single rate meter, incorrect readings given by ‘industry’…etc.) but I seem to have ‘lucked out’ with my WONDERFUL customer service advisor (Harriet). Always this same lady who deals with my many questions/confusion, always with patience and empathy, even providing a ‘telephone meeting’ to talk through my concerns! I’ve just checked about moving to fixed rate (instead of variable) tariff and - although there are some cheaper deals out there, I’m very reluctant to move (and probably won’t!). Having experienced so-called “customer service” from the previous supplier (Ovo Energy) I will be staying with Octopus!

I've taken over the supplies at my dad's home after he passed away. Applied to switch from British gas to Octopus and knocked back due to credit check. Most frustrating as that's not my address so they won't find anything about me there.

The fact that they couldn't link you to the address may be the reason. I'm no expert, but I'd think the credit check should be against your personal details even if it is in respect of services to another property.

Sad times. After repeated billing issues in recent months, and Octopus adding over £600 of charges to my account out of the blue without any billing to support it, I have had to go down the formal complaint route. It certainly feels like they are taking on the characteristics of another large energy company. :(
