Someone using 12000 kwh gas per year for my region price promise is a few pounds less than £25 cheaper.per yearGood to have it confirmed.Octopus don't hide the details away either as per the link which I think you posted recently, thanks for that:

Ofgem have clearly defined the criteria to be excepted from the notifications, and that is that the tariff is dependent solely on a calculation based on external variables, beyond the control of the supplier, and on that basis SVT fails the test because the supplier is at liberty to offer any price at or below the statutory cap. I'm sure that it is Octopus' intention to send out notifications and that they've been unable to do so in this instance for whatever reason, but this is a courtesy, not an obligation.MWT said:savers_united said:Like I said previously I have spoken to Octopus and they have not told me I will not get notification, instead they said its a glitch because I only have the gas and it would need to be generated manually. That tells me they should be sending them out. That really just tells you that the CS person you spoke to may not appreciate the subtitles of the tariff, but even if they don't have to send them out they can still opt to do so if they wish.
You can't make that argument because the tariff doesn't have an end point so it misses one of the requirements under the SLC.savers_united said:You could argue the capped SVT is a set formula in that it changes every 6 months and Ofgem do the calculation.I do understand your other points, but to some extent you do sacrifice a little certainty on the details when you choose one of the more exotic tariffs, and hopefully Octopus will send out notifications even if they don't have to.

Thanks for that, I am getting charged a penny less on the SC and 0.3 pence on the unit rate compared to flexible, so £25 it almost feels like an even split between the both fuels. Although Octopus are now offering some discounts on the flexible tariff against the Elec side for loyal customers.bristolleedsfan said:

I would argue they are still obliged to inform customers of change to the tariff rate as its a fixed tariff term.Where the tariff varies in accordance with a predefined formula there is no requirement to advise the customer each time it changes.Take the 'Agile' tariff, or the 'Tracker' tariff as examples, Agile changes 48 times a day, Tracker changes daily, neither require notification for each change.Similarly for the 'Price Promise' the calculation is published so there there is no requirement to advise the customers on that tariff in advance.
Price promise is at least £50 below the Cap, when I spoke to Octopus about this they said a dual fuel customer will overall pay at least £50 less than someone on the SVT. It could be £60,£80 below the Cap. I am gas only so would like to know how much I would save against the SVT with a single fuel, without getting notification I am unable to compare against other tariff

It would be nice if they did send through a breakdown as they did last time

I see today Octopus has released Tracker V3. The daily standing charges appear to match those on Flexible, which removes one of the attractions of Tracker. My gas switched to Octopus on Sunday but so far there's no gas tariff information showing on my account. I'm meant to be on Tracker but don't know which version, or even if I've been put on Flexible as an interim measure. If it doesn't appear in a day or two I will have to chase them.N. Octopus are usually pretty good with getting you on the tariff you requested at the time even if it's subsequently withdrawnQrizB said:I see today Octopus has released Tracker V3. Tracker is not dependent on smart metering information so there should be no reason not to put you straight on to it, and from personal experience they have always honoured the tariff version current at the time they agreed to put you onto it, so you should be on V2 if it was a recent request.QrizB said:My gas switched to Octopus on Sunday but so far there's no gas tariff information showing on my account. Many Thanks for your insightful posts. Having narrowly missed V1 it must be annoying to have getting on V2 Tracker in doubt. I’m on Gas Tracker V2 having also narrowly missed out on V1 and I don’t have a smart meter for Gas. So far I’m averaging under 6p kWh. I don’t use much Gas in the summer but it’s still much better than any other tariff currently on offer which is probably why they’ve removed the attraction of the low standing charge.QrizB said:I see today Octopus has released Tracker V3. It is also worth noting that the 'Loyal' fixed tariff went back to being 12 months a couple of days ago and dropped the gas price a little at the same time, electricity went up though... (Eastern Region)

Interesting development on 'Go'...
I suspect it is a mistake and that only applies to 'Go Green', but we will see...
The terms for 'Go' still just have this part:
Edit: mistake confirmed, correction has been made now...
