Oh how I wish this would end up in court.

Judge: Who is the registered keeper of this vehicle?

    Son: *squeak* Me your honour.

    Judge: how old are you?

Son: * squeak* Seven your honour.

Judge: Case dismissed. Costs to the defendant of 95 quid, to be paid in Kinder eggs and a whole jar of sherbert lemons.

    No offence meant.

    Like you ... I WISH ?

UKPC will cancel if they know what's good for them.
To ignore this one and start sending debt collectors to a 7 year old would be sudden death for UKPC.

As far as UKPC trying to charge a £15 admin charge, I hope the OP tells them where to stuff it

I agree, the best way to achieve this would be to act stupid, and ignore them. Imagine their solicitor's surprise when little Jimmy turns up in court wearing his school uniform. Perhaps, one of his teachers could be called as a character witness.

    Complain to the cinema firstly.

Then you can appeal as the keeper (in crayon, if you wish)

"Dear UKPC, I am appealing as the registered keeper, however I cannot be held liable under the Protection Of Freedoms Act, 2012 due to numerous compliance failings. I most certainly was not the driver, mostly owing to being 7 years old.

Hopefully, they'll drop it pretty sharp.

However, you could really embarrass them if you let it run.

I'm really tempted to just ignore it now and see what happens lol
I have typed a draft email but the scanner is being temperamental so can't attach a copy of his blue badge yet.

Do you normally give up most things like this ?

To ignore it is foolhardy, you will harassed by debt collectors letters and the threats of court, maybe even going to court ... do you actually want that ??

Pinch it in the bud right now. Surely you know someone with a scanner who could then email the jpg to you and your computer

You can rest assured that you're not actually going to have to pay up, nor can they enforce a CCJ on a 7-year old. He's clearly not the driver, and can't be bound to any contract even if POFA 2012 compliance is claimed.

As said, if you don't tell them what the situation is, you'll get fairly regular debt collection letters and potentially have to defend it at a court. Whilst it's a pretty easy win on your part, it's still pretty time consuming.

I don't think you even need to show a copy of the disabled badge; it's not particularly relevant. A photo of it would probably suffice.

Something like this might just kill it:

"The registered keeper is a 7 year old autistic boy, copy of disabled badge enclosed. He cannot be held liable for this invoice in any way. Do you really want to pursue this?"

Or a post on the cinemas facebook page might do the trick even more quickly.

Ignore might be the best thing as any action pursued by UKPC against a SEVEN YEAR OLD DISABLED KEEPER will blow up more in their face than in the face of the OP (or her 7 year old son)!

This isn't 'giving up', I'd see it as a different strategy of attack.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I very much doubt that the OP wants or needs the harassment that UKPC produces to which we all know about.
Ignoring would be foolhardy when it can be pinched in the bud now

Right now UKPC will not have a clue the keeper is a 7 yr old child. If they are told and ignore it ... then the s**t can hit the fan

Do you have a digital camera; if so, take a photo of the badge and attach it as a JPEG to you email.

Time is not something I have a lot of to waste if it ended up in court. I can take a photo of badge easily, didn't know they'd accept a photo.
