You could get a normal tyre delivered by a chauffer, fitted and a full body massage in the back of their limo for that kind of money!
No for the suspension airbags on the rear of the car. We got the same airbags without BMW branding for a 5th of the price. The rear tyres are very expensive though Dunlop SPs don't come cheap especially in the low profile.0 -
Interestingly I have run a 535d saloon bmw from new and am about to change it for something a little more suitable for the lake district actually considering x5 or x6.....0

Why are either more suitable for the location?
With low profile summer road tyres both the X5 and X6 will go up the same road as your current car will.
And thinking about it why an X6, just why?:eek:0 -
It's not the steepness of the roads it's the condition particularly in winter and the visibility over the hedges I want! The 5 is great on wide fast roads, country lanes aren't quite the same....I moved here in August and where I live most people have 4 by 4s and smiled when they saw my car......
X6 a marmite car but I like it!0 -

Hence my comment about an X having low profile summer tyres. Where's the benefit over your current car if all four wheels are spinning?0 -
Plus, of course, having two more wheels providing traction might get you moving more easily, but it won't make any difference to changing direction or stopping moving.
I live in very rural Herefordshire. Most people around here drive perfectly normal cars. Those 4x4s that there are mostly have sheep in the back.0 -

I own a 530d 2004 and for the past two years that i have owned it , i have not seen much of the bmw reliability .
It a myth that German cars are reliable, maybe once it was true before the Japanese came and showed how its done.

Reluctantly I have to agree - my 528i failed to start at the top of the 12,500 ft GrossGlockner Pass in Austria.
But I solved the problem - I pressed the start button a 2nd time.
As for statistics - the biggest real (for members benefit) motor club in the world (outside the USA) doesn't agree with you.

If you use google chrome those pages should automatically translate - but even if they don't and you don't speak German then all you need to know is green is good and red is crap.0 -

Figures from WarrantyWise, who provide fairly pointless paperwork for, very often, lower-end dealers selling cars at the cheaper end of the market.
The cheaper end of the market being the very place where a mistreated BMW, Audi, or Merc, bought because of the badge, will throw up a big bill quickly because it's not been looked after on its plunge towards the backstreet banger-peddler marketplace.0 -
