I am on a roll today. My DS has paid me another £250 off the amount he owes me so as soon as it hit my bank account I have paid it off my credit card.
So another £250 gone :j:j:j:j:j:j:j

Hi Everybody
I hope everybody is having a nice day.
This morning I have wrapped another six items that sold on ebay last night and took them to the post office. I really cannot believe it if I am honest. I have paid the ebay fees and transferred the balance after postage fees to my credit card.
Up to now this month I have paid £1045 off my c/c :j:j:j.
It makes me think if I did not have to pay this back what else I could be doing with all that cash:(. But it also makes me more determined to get the amount paid off.
I have read the gas / electricity meter this morning and both the gas and electricity consumption is way down on April. Over the past few weeks I have been using the slow cooker a lot more to make stews as I was finding I ended up cooking / putting the oven on two / three times in the evening as my hubby, son and daughter were all coming home from work at different times. If I make something in the slow cooker they just come in and help themselves and that leaves me with more time and the oven is not going on three times in the evening. So a win win situation.
I do keep thing and saying it - IT ALL GOES DOWN TO BEING ORGANISED
Any way , must go as I have work to finish and another five items to put on ebay. On a plus side the garage is starting to look better and there is far more floor space than there has been in a long long time.
Take care everybody

Hi LBM, you're doing so well!!! I've only had a couple of bites on eb@y so far this month, but I've eased off on uploading items as I'm going away so won't be able to sell then. But you are definitely an inspiration and motivation for me to carry on even when I feel like I'm only making pennies! Do you sell mostly big items, or small? Clothes or other things? I sell mostly clothes and games/dvd's but I think there's such a saturation of clothes on there that they don't get the same interest as other things do.
But £1045 off your cc is fantastic! You must feel so good :beer:0 -
Just stumbled across your diary LBM and you are really inspirational. Well done on what you've achieved in such a short time.
Ive started my own diary to try and really think about each penny we spend. I want this debt gone, it's been hanging around for far too long.
I have also set a weekly budget for food and petrol.
I also cook from scratch and meal plan. I'm doing slimming world so I really need to, but it makes things so much more affordable and we are eating much healthier meals.
My full time job is as an online seller so I do that anyway lol.
I'm going to subscribe. Thanks for the inspirationStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Hi Guys Thank you both for reading and commenting.
Chicabonita - Keep going with ebay when you start selling it really does become very addictive. I have been selling all sorts of stuff including bags, shoes, clothes, games, household stuff any thing and everything. Also a friend of mine worked at an organisation that made all sorts of health pills and she kept giving me jar after jar. I have ended up with three very big boxes of different types of stuff. I have listed all of these and they are selling like hot cakes, which is great.
Julie - It is great you have started a diary. I have found it has made me a lot more motivated than I have been in a long long time. I look at my situation and keep thinking I am earning money and I am not going to waste it any more, which is making the money go a lot further than it has in a long time. Keep on top of your spending from shopping, petrol, gas, electricity any thing at all. I am going to go and find your diary now. What is your on line business? Do you work from home like I do?
Take care everybody

Hi Julie
I love working for myself. However, it also has its negative sides as well. I always find it so stressful when I take a week off work and also you cannot really budget to far in advance as your income can go up and down in no pattern at all.
When I have sold all my junk I am thinking of opening an ebay shop to help generate some extra income. I am looking at it at the moment, but first need to get shot of all the stuff we dont need or use first.
Take care and I really hope it keeps going well for you.

Hey LBM
I too am self employed and once I am clear of debt I am hoping to start putting holiday money aside with my taxes. So say you would like to have 20 days holiday a year, work out your average daily rate from last years turnover multiply by 20 and divide by 12 and put that aside into a holiday pay pot, then when you are having time off you are covering your wages.
It might not work for you, but that's my plan anyway. :jCurrently in an IVA due to trying to fund a growing business but enough is enough. Back to uni I go to study and get some stability back!!!0 -
Hi Bambi
I hope you are well and thank you so much for reading and commenting. What line of business are you in?
I do love working for myself, but like I said I really do find it so stressful when I am taking a week off because all the companies I work with all place orders prior to me going so I have to fit an extra weeks worth of work in before I go.
Well today I have sold another six items on ebay. So have posted them and paid more of my C/C bill.
I am going to try this afternoon and sort out all the stuff for a car boot sale at weekend, but will have to see what the weather is like first. I cannot wait to get my house back and have some space.
I got up early this morning so went shopping and it came in under budget at £58 so I still have £12 for any emergency items during the week. I also put £20 of fuel in the car which should last me till next weekend. I did not put any petrol in the car last week and have managed on what was left in the tank. So another £20 saved. :j
I am really getting into this questioning what I are spending and asking the question Do I really need it and do I really want to spend that money or would it be better off being paid to the C/C bill.
I just hope I can keep it up.
I hope everybody has a great weekend.

Hey LBM!
I run a sewing business, basically anything that needs sewing I will work do it. What do you do?
You are still doing fantastically well with your debt reduction, and your house will be empty before you know it! Good luck with the car boot!
