I had to get my dd to check my fridge setting yesterday too. Well done on making the effort to get out there pet. My SW has sipped a bit so hoping the warm weather will make me less inclined to scoff everything in sight.

It sounds as if he packed a lot of life and fun into the time he had and you were so lucky to have had him.

I am so sorry for your loss but relieved for ill person that suffering is over.

DDs came over at the weekend and built me a small bookcase. They will do another one next week and help me unpack a few more boxes of books. Suggested that if a connecting door was bricked up then a row of bookcases could be built in the upstairs study and there would be space in the other bedroom for a wardrobe etc.

I will need to pop out later for some rolls, cold meat and maybe salad veg and might even go to the bigger supermarket at the other end of town later to look for YS that can freeze.

    Happy birthday in advance.

  • Morning, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Jackie, safe journey, take care. NMIC sorry for your loss, at least the end was peaceful.

Lovely sunny morning again, I have an appointment to get my hair cut. Bed stripped and in the washer, it should dry quickly if yesterday was anything to go by.

I have to bake later, we have visitors for afternoon tea tomorrow, scones and lemon drizzle cake I think.

Off to remake the bed and fling the duster at the bedroom, clean the carpet etc, will do the bathroom and loo when I get back from my hair cut.

Well I fell off the BSD wagon well and truly last week. It was a conscious decision because we had guests and we also like to eat out when we are in Yorkshire. Not too bad though - I just ordered what I liked and then ate until I was full. DH was bemoaning that he'd put on over half a stone but I told him it was his own fault, he will eat my left overs. Sometimes it was half a meal so no wonder he puts weight on. I put on a pound and a half but more importantly didn't have a recurrence of my stomach problems.
  • I rarely come on here now but popped on randomly today and had to sign in to send hugs to JackieO...so sorry to hear the news about your dear brother Davey😞

Hi NPM, nice to hear from you - how are the children?

I now feel officially old, I was in the craft shop picking up some buttons when a young woman asked how long was a yard, she had no idea.

nmlc sorry for your loss; it must, though, be a good thing that ill person isn't suffering any more.

Jackie safe travels, my dear; and may the sun shine on Davey once more.

NPM Good to "see" you. Hope you're ok, and life's treating you nicely.

I'm exactly the opposite - when I had my interrogation for my PIP assessment, the woman asked if I could walk 20 meters, and I had to ask what that is in English. I couldn't remember, in my nervousness, whether a meter is a smidge more than a yard or a smidge more than a foot. Or how wide, in feet, a carport is. :D Ok, to explain, I can just about hobble the width of the carport to get in the car, with the aid of two sticks and a lot of colourful language.:D

    Afternoon all,

Hasn't it been lovely weather :jWe had a nice sunny walk this morning and the trees across the road are really filling out now.I have had 2 washer loads on the line too.
One thing i wasnt too happy about yesterday was someone has pushed over the waste bin at the top of the footpath, sending loads & loads of dog waste bags down the steps so I donned my rubber gloves again ,put everything in a black bin bag then carried the bin back up & it was blooming heavy.DH told me off for doing it but I walk down there everyday with Ly1a and its lovely.I've just filled an online complaint to the council to get it emptied or some idiot will do it again.I think they are supposed to lock but perhaps it got damaged when we were flooded. It also says on their website they empty the waste bins weekly, haha, the black bin bag I'd filled previously about 2 months ago was in the bottom!

Thanks for the heads up about perrenials at Morries( sorry cant remember who it was),we got some yesterday, some sea holly which I'd seen online for abour £6 were reduced to £1,and quite a few others. The front border is filled now and looks lovely.I've just been watering them all in again.

Granchildren tonight so tea will prob be something and chips,I have a joint of pork but I didnt want the oven on so long.I have salad to use up and some dips too.

Nmlc,I am sorry to hear your sad news, but glad the suffering is over for your relative.
Jackie O- safe journey to France to lay your DB to rest.

NPM-lovely to 'see' you, looking at your sig-cant believe its been so long since you were planning your wedding  Hope the family are well x
