Did you happen to tell them that replacing the battery fixed the issue? Only for them to find out that it didn't?0

I would not argue with that but in both cases,completely out the the blue, the engine would not start. The first thing I thought of was anything else but a !!!!ed battery. Perhaps mistakenly I thought you would be able to tell when a battery was about to go.0 -

No, many batteries which give up, do so suddenly and without warning. Particularly on the first cold morning in the winter.0 -
