Re: advice given so far....if using bleach on none-all-white tea towels it presumably turns them white? What do we do if we like the colour of the tea towels but just don't want the staining?
I've done this with all of my tea towels, and most of them seem to be colour fast dyes - never had one 'bleach' :jPlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
No advice re the teatowel problem, but I could be persuaded to take the up the offer of marriage should you prove adept at car maintainence - pumping up tyres, changing oil etc0

If all else fails hang them in the sun on a really sunny day , seems to work for me..#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

I'm far too fussy.
Money is not the root of all evil.
It depends on how you obtain it and how you use it.

I have to put a load of teatowels from work in wash over the weekend so you could send them my way and I could bung them in with mine? no promises that they will be sparkling white though!

PS, I'd consider marrying youas I'm a single female , however you must be willing to remove hair from plughole as this is one job I do not like doing! :rotfl:* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

Aldi sell their own brand of 'oxi action' stain remove, you can make a paste with it and spread it onto the stain before washing, usually does the trickGo hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last0

I do a bit of everything to maintain fairly stainfree tea towels... apart from the putting them out to dry in hot sunny weather... lately!!
Marriage... how old are you? :-)0 -
Hahah i am loving all these lovely ladies offering to marry you!! I of course am the best choice as I would only ask you to take out the rubbish and uproot and move many hundreds of miles to be with me
Oh and on the tea towel front - the worst thing to do is wash or soak in hot water as the heat seals in the stains. If you soad in cold water you will stand a much better chance of getting them out ...... If they are plain white I would try the bleach method, if the stains are small I would try bleach and/or washing crystals as tea contains tanin. Salt will not work on these types of stains. Failing all that - new tea towels!!Emma

Since you are obviously using the teatowels as combo oven gloves too, keep them for that and buy new ones for the washing up.
Could I marry a man who's a messy cook??? Uh-uh

A bloke who cares about his tea towels. I am seriously impressed. Sorry I am already married to a lovely fella so cant help on the marriage front but I am sure someone will snap you up, domesticated ones are hard to find!
Grubby tea towels are a great excuse to de-gung the washing machine. Stick the machine on and just put a good splodge of bleach in the drawer instead of powder. You need to run on a hot wash and I always do some whites or bedding afterwards just in case there is any bleach left.
Leaves the washing machine nice and clean and sorts out the tea towels.0
