My youngest I had home for less than a week after Christmas before he went back to the Far East and I doubt that he will ever be home again, not even for the big life events like his sisters and her BFs wedding next year ...

    Oh mhoc.....:o

    Good morning.

A reminder while I have a mobile signal (... by the upstairs window ... would get a signal booster but that relies on Wifi on home broadband working :().

1pint vouchers dated 31/5 will likely expire at midnight tonight (not tomorrow!) based on previous experience, so make sure that you claim. Free 4 packs and £5 off 20 packs are mostly dated 31/5 - I have quite a few £5 off 20 vouchers that will expire, but no Wombles and no real desire to pay £5/£6 after claiming :(.

Does anyone know what's happening next with this promotion? Is it more of the same do we think?

My mind has been preoccupied after hearing about train shenanigans last night

I went to Durham station to pick up guests and Platform 1 was full and I mean FULL of drunks .....mostly older people and mostly women. One lady could not stand unsupported:o Not good where there are speeding trains:o

They were getting on the train from Newcastle which my guests were getting off and there had been a incident on that train involving a large group of women and one man. He was drunk and was shouting obscenities. He was challenged separately by 2 men one of whom had a 10 year old son:o
An argument ensued. It was a terrible journey:o
I can't imagine how much worse it must have got once the "happy " passengers from Durham got on.

It set me off thinking how I would have reacted on the train. I'm a challenger but how do you do it without making the situation worse?:o

Does Durham or Newcastle station have alchol free zones - signs to say no alcohol after 9? I know Liverpool lime street does and I think I've seen them at Cardiff Central when there was a match. I look out for them now.
Was their any sign of the conductor on the train - they seem to vanish when you really need them? I think they sometimes radio through and get the transport police to meet trains in stations and escort trouble makers off.

Twitter is very good in these situations for quick responses - I've contacted Virgin, London Midland and Cross Country via their twitter feeds with various queries - eg trains stood in platforms and not moving, trains stood outside platforms for no good reason, having to change platforms because if a good train going through etc

The thing that annoys me is that drunks in stations don't even have to be responsible for themselves now, platform staff have a duty of care as they are classed as 'vunerable persons'

I think the 25% discount for Waitrose 1 products is pre-loaded onto the mywaitrose card MKS but I don't know if it's all products in the range or when it finishes. x

There was no conductor on the train mhoc and I didn't see any alcohol bring consumed either. The damage was done I think.
This duty of care thing is so annoying especially when people neglect their own well being and pass that responsibility on to someone else:mad:

Btw...did you ever spend your Boden voucher...I see some new things have been added to clearance since I last looked:)
