Good morning all, what a grey day

I have had my plans thwarted today, OH needs his steps and I was planning on emulsioning the walls today, there is small amount I cannot reach without the steps so I cannot do any of it today, out working with him tomorrow so that will not be done till Friday now. Still, plenty more I can do, got to work out how to take the curtain rail down (it is a solid one with all the screws hidden wherever, looks great up but a mare to get down. I will also put the linings in soak to see if they will ever be clean again, then I have some priming to be done, so still a busy morning. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

OH has a bit of a dilemma. He has been looking after his parents for about 3 years and for the past year has been getting carer's allowance. his mum was admitted to a nearby care home in October last year and his Dad spent a few weeks there also but then went home. He has cancer and a weak heart and OH shops, cooks and takes him to appts and to visit his wife. He is in quite a lot of pain as he has a suspected thrombosis in his leg ( not for the 1st time. ). Oh usually has Sunday off and his brother and wife who live about 30 miles away come over.
This week they swopped Sat for Sunday and my husband took him a sunday lunch and when he saw him on Monday he said he had enjoyed it and oh saw no evidence he hadnt eaten it. On Monday DD had a false alarm that she was in labour so we spent the afternoon at hospital. On the way home we got a call to say his brother and wife had picked up his dad and taken him to their house to stay as he is not eating! We presumed it was for a few days but he called yesterday to ask us to go to his house to discuss his dad staying there for the foreseeable future.
Oh as you know is a recovering alcoholic and is in a right state. His Mum's health is improving and she actually went out last week for the 1st time and oh was thinking she may even be well enough to come home soon so they can be together.
His brother is talking about stair lifts etc as the bathroom and bedroom in his house is upstairs and father and mother in law live in a warden assisted flat. His dad has a care package and if he needs more help they will give it.
Every time my brother and sister in law visit and fil is ill they ship him off to hospital and tell us he is going to die. He is an old man with an illness and Im not sure if my bil is putting pressure on him to stay with them.
Not sure what tactic to take when we go for a meeting with him tonight ( at the flat not his house as we thought it best not to discuss too much with fil to start with) They have financial power of attorney and health one has been done but not enacted.
Its a worry.0
