got my couple of ebay parcels wrapped and took with me on school run - I walked the kids today! then got collared for a cuppa in the graveyard (one solitary house at the front of the graveyard lol ) then walked to dentist appt. had a descale and a filling - I didn't know I had a hole lol it didn't hurt! slow walk home parcels sent and i'm eating a sausage roll. off to make a cuppa and sit in garden feeding the birds with me big bag of raisins lol

I like these sorts of mornings, you still have made progress, got things done from the To Do list but still left time for a bit of downtime for yourself :)

    afternoon all

having problems yet again with my jawbone upband  again it would not synch despite using all of the guides to trouble shoot. I am very careful not to misuse my band, never gets wet, never dropped, lost, abandoned, sat on and its constantly on my wrist.

Previously its been very slick, I contact them and we go through everything and they have sent me a replacement band when I've had problems but this time they say its out of warranty so its tough, all I get is a 25% off code.

I originally won it and started wearing back in August 2014 but I've had 3 replacements so the current one is less than 12 months old -I've still got the original box but no receipt

I doubt if I will get a jawbone again

    deep sigh

anyway what has everyone been up to today ...

Maybe you need to go to the top, find out who is the Moreno of the company and email whoever it is, you lose nothing by doing that.

A sad update from me. Nothing more can be done for my friend and they think it's likely to be days or a couple of weeks at most. I'm going to see her tomorrow unless she's in transit to a hospice in which case I'll go Thursday. :(

this is so sad but hang onto the fact that at least you get to have a chance to say your goodbyes properly and if not at least you can be with her and hold her hand
Its a pity its such a long distance you have to drive to get there - I don't think I would have your common sense - if it was me I would just be throwing random stuff into the boot of the car, filling the car with petrol and setting off now, even if it meant a night sleeping in the car in some layby en route.

I've actually had a bit of good luck, for some reason I looked up The Christie on google at the weekend and read a leaflet there and they said something about accommodation. I've rung today and they have 3 rooms for visitors, and one is free, so I've got it tonight. Even better is that there is no charge, which I think is fantastic. I've got a Dr's appointment this afternoon, then I think I'm going to wait til about 6.30 and let the main rush hour traffic die down before I set off.

As for packing, as long as I remember all my catheters and stuff I'll be fine, the rest doesn't matter, I'll just be smelly if I forget anything! Can't forget my catheters though or I'll be in trouble!

thanks for this, its a lost cause but I found an email and sent it off, its not making me feel any better but at least I feel like I've done something.

just done a search on my sent emails and this current replacement band only dates to November 2015 so its about 6 months old - if it was a washing machine e or a vacuum with recurrent problems it would be a recall issue ...

this is excellent, just start cramming the car with everything you can possible think of before the appointment and then just set off, don't fret about traffic.

do you have photos on your camera or table or hard copies? I always took my ipad when I went to see my dad and conversations revolved around the photos - cats, what the kids were up to, how the garden was doing, places we had been to, new things bought, fixed or mended, what the weather was doing or going to do, nice meals we had eaten out or cooked, maps for travel trips past tor future etc - even when Dad was non responsive I was showing the photos and having one sided conversations so the flow of dialogue never stopped
