I went to Aldi earlier as I needed some fruit and veg. If you look on msm for Broccoli in Aldi, you'd think they only had the 335g 'fresh' Broccoli. However, they still have 1Kg frozen packs at 85p. The frozen 1Kg Savers went down to 50p briefly in M probably years ago and it should now be A SP 1Kg vs M for 10% cheaper than 90p. So, another overpayment of 4p:( - but since I don't need 7 more items at the moment, then it's saved that cost and it would have cost more than 4p to travel out to A. That's the problem if it's pence difference although you have a more expensive supermarket - you may be better off shopping at the more expensive place as it costs more to travel to somewhere else.

Msm saying Funsize apples in Aldi are down to 79p. I thought the Super6 offers before were 59p and the current Super6 has nothing that interests me - doesn't seem to be anything worth buying in that at the moment at all - some small pack of carrots that is, therefore, quite a high price per unit! However, ignoring the Super6, I found some Everyday Essentials apples packs at 62p. I thought they were quite good, so I bought one - only to visit Lidl later and find that Funsize apples there are 59p. However, I am happy with the 62p apples because my Lidl was completely OOS anyway so I could not have bought any of the 59p apples there today and would have had no apples at all, that I need, had I not bought them earlier at Aldi! Also the Funsize apples at Lidl appear to be Gala apples - however I have got plenty of Gala apples from buying the Funsize packs in Aldi last time, before the offers changed a week ago, and I need apples other than Gala. The Everyday Essentials packs, for me, are Braeburn and, although minimum 5, I managed to buy a pack that has 9 apples in it. I think it may have been a little older stock as it seems the others are 8, 6 and moving to 5. They seem to have good offers at the outset in Aldi and then to become mean during the offer period as the packs seem to get fewer apples later on. I don't know if anyone else realistically will manage 9 apples - although I have and it's a lot better than the 69p prices on apples earlier in T.

In Lidl, I found they also still have the punnets of Pears at 59p. They also have Deluxe Scotch 4 Beef Quarter Pounders (454g) at £1.89 which works out a bit better than the £1 price on one version of 2 pack steak Burgers in M (the other version there, of course, is £1.50 and I think that now means my store, by the weekend certainly, does not have the £1 BC anymore as obviously they sell out sooner - anyway, maybe even that should be deleted as the price on 4 in Lidl is now better:rotfl:).

Hi BQ, yes got home safely thank you. Most of the fans stayed in the ground with it being the last home game of the season I think the players and their families come out onto the pitch? So there were no queues for the soccerbus and trains:) Had a really good time and enjoyed the atmosphere even though it wasn't the greatest game, oh & I think you wish for no injuries was granted ;)

The 10p Sesame Snaps were 3p in M yesterday. Does this mean that the other 10p RTC items have now gone to 3p?

No, but thankfully I see they now have stores with the mbuy in M showing and are picking up the mix and match:T.

However, I've now already switched to Farmfoods and found their milk price to be better than even A with the 10%. For people that have Farmfoods available to them, Farmfoods may also be good for those that don't need 12 pints of milk. M requiring us to buy 12 pints to get the £1 for 6 price. It's no good if you only need 6 pints of milk for the week! Anyway, Farmfoods £2 for 14 pints (4 of 3.5 pints each) is better than 10% off £2 for 12 pints vs M and, in Farmfoods, you can buy just 7 pints and have the 2 for £1 and don't need the 14 pints for £2 (M would get you just 12 pints at the same cost and you can't have only 6 pints for £1 there - unless you catch another shopper who just needs a single carton and agree to split the price between you - perhaps we should do more of that:rotfl::money: - nothing like encouraging strangers to converse with each other and become friends:rotfl::rotfl: - but - Farmfoods anyway).

The dates on my Farmfoods milk - 2 for £1 for 7 pints - will last about a week. Which is about the same as a 6 pint carton for the week. If you only need 6 pints, it's no use going to M (or A) as the price (or price to compare to) for straight 6 pints is £1.30. It helps us more on wombles though now if people buy 2x6 pints in A:rotfl::rotfl::T.

    Nice one Chris:T

The only problem is that they are a tight squeeze for the fridge and I can see a crack appearing on the side:o

No problem with 2x 2L from Farmfoods, as they are smaller and can fit easier into fridges. You can buy another two later, if you have a Farmfoods, if they keep their offer on until 25 May like it supposedly is supposed to be. So, the fridge fit is another good reason for going for Farmfoods in my view - quite apart from the fact they are cheaper than 10% off M's mbuy.

Of course, Farmfoods must be really squeezing the farmer or else making a loss on this offer - they expect us to buy more from them than milk I suspect. From a purely moneysaving (for us) POV, the cheapest milk is picked. However, I think all - or nearly all - of the other prices I saw in Farmfoods' current leaflet were the same as or could be bettered elsewhere. Stores would have to start making people buy a certain cost in other items from them in order to get their best (from our POV) offers.

Although people (maybe not people here) think that Aldi and Lidl are the discounters, there are some pretty "expensive" items in each of them at the moment compared to the prices you can get on equivalents elsewhere!

For example, Quorn SFC Burgers and LM Veg Sausages in Lidl are both significanly above the current £1 on each of them in M at the moment. And Apple Strudel at £1.49:eek: (should be £1 or less). You certainly do have to pick only some offers and not others. I think that's why my shopping in Aldi/Lidl is always only one item, or two items maximum, whilst everyone else that I see there is buying a whole lot of shopping and paying a lot more than me!:rotfl::rotfl:

    Evening all.:D
Visited Debenhams late this afternoon to pick up the clutch bag for the wedding and was cornered by a sa asking if I wanted cheap chocolates. She had piles of huge boxes of Ferrero Rocher, 42 in a box for £1.25 a box, originally £16. There were also the Ferrero Collection boxes for £1.16. Did I buy? You bet. :D 4 boxes of each. Took a box to VT to cheer her up as her foot was sore today.
Very behind on reading the thread, so apologies for missed birthday greetings.:o
    Hope all are well.

Yep, I saw the boot full of chocs. Fab buy as will still be in date (by a day) when N wants to use them.
Was a lovely surprise as yes, my foot is very painful at the moment which I wasn't expecting 3 weeks after op. I suppose they disturbed a fair few different muscle groups. Am being a good girl and taking paracetamol at night now coupled with pounds hops ibuprofen gel which is a marvel at the cost.

Hairdresser has been and I think I am a bit darker this time. Was platinum blonde until 5 weeks ago so takes some getting use to but a nice change.

Off to read back which I don't think will take too long.
