Then you have a good way back if something goes wrong.
I have now made an image copy (bootable CD) and have checked files are on it.
As the used space is 165MB what does this actually boot?
I realise should I need it I will have to change BIOS to boot from CD.
Does it boot the Win 7 operating system and licence?
Does it boot all other files?
Can I do a clean install from this?
It does seem to be a very small amount of space used.0 -
Did you use Macrium? The Macrium Repair disk uses about that much space. I would expect a system image to be a few Gigabyte.
Have you considered creating a system image and a Windows Repair disk using Windows 7 own backup procedure. (Found in control panel).0 -

That is not the HDD image, but simply a Boot disc. To where did you save the actual hard drive image....which could be hundreds of GB dependent on what is on your hard drive?
Most would use an external hard drive to that end.
It's patently clear that you haven't got a clue. Is this a laptop or PC? Give model details.0 -

Come on, be serious.Brand name and full model number.
I recommend that you don't bother upgrading. But just to preserve activation for now and perhaps install Windows 10 to a new SSD in the future.
That will give you more time to gather your thoughts and to proceed as and when you want to do so.
At the moment you seem more than confused.0 -
