Solo Traveler Thailand

Hello
I'm looking to go on a couple of weeks holiday to Thailand - I've been looking at joining a singles travel group to do so. After googling and finding a thousand companies does anyone have any advice or could recommend a company?
Also any advice on what not to miss out on seeing - or anything that's not worth the hype?
Thanks in advance.

Forget about the "singles groups"(isn't that an oxymoron?). Thailand is one of the easiest countries in the world to travel around alone. You will find solo travellers wherever you to to hook up with... or avoid. Far better than being stuck with the same group of people who you can't escape from.0

I've never used this company, but a couple of people I work with have and come back with good reports. They've traveled as couples but the group has been a mix of singles and couples, so this might be a good starting point.

There's a first time for everything and Thailand is one of the easiest countries in the world to go solo travelling. Many thousands do it every year. The best thing about solo travel is you do exactly what you want, where you want, when you want and with who you want. No keeping to a schedule or fitting in with what everyone else wants to do.0 -

You don't need to travel alone. Turn up at a hostel, talk to some people, if they're going somewhere next that interests you then go along with them. Though regardless, as others have implied, if you're able to travel alone within the UK logistically then you'll cope perfectly fine in Thailand. Sometimes it's even easier.
But if that's definitely what you want to do (i.e. the trip and dynamic attracts you, not "I'm scared to go alone") I wouldn't try and talk you out of doing it. I personally don't particularly like them, though did one with Intrepid in Africa where it wasn't really possible to do it alone and it was fine (I loved the group - if I didn't it would have been pretty awful!). I also used Tesco vouchers which you could quadruple in value at the time - I think it's triple now. A quick look at one itinerary involved you just using public transport the whole way anyway so you'd probably be just as supported by getting decent travel agents to plan it for you when you get there.0 -
A friend of mine recently (easter) did a solo tour of Cambodia with these https://www.wendywutours.co.uk/
Had a fab time, couldn't praise them enough and is now planning another trip with them againEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -
Thank you everyone - I shall check the companies suggested out.
I've never travelled anywhere alone apart from england and always met friends at the other end!! For me this is a big deal and right now I don't feel confident enough to go it alone, perhaps in the future
Thanks again

I met a girl years ago when travelling through China, she'd started with this type of tour in Nepal. She was reasonably happy with the start and comfort it gave her on what turned out to be a longer trip around Asia, but it was fairly expensive. The main criticism was that she paid for the tour in the uk and there was a local fee to be paid, when she got to Nepal she found out that the whole of the U.K. Fee just paid for the tour operator and uk operation, everything in Nepal came out of the local payment, which shows the margins they can generate.
Thailand is possibly the easiest place to travel around in the world, partly because it is so cheap that if you do have any problems things like taxis even long distance don't cost you a huge amount.0
