Claim Form after PCNs, DRP

Hi,

I took everyone's advice and ignored all of the DRP threats, UKPC PCNs and now I have een issued an official Claim Form from the Country Court Business Centre.

They have added both court fees and legal representative fees to the original amount claimed.

What do I do now? Do I pay?

Slightly on edge as I have my final year exams for the next few weeks which are very important and I don't want to worry about paying this ridiculous amount of £235 and having to attend court.

What should I do now please?

Thanks

George

Who advised you to ignore UKPC parking charges?

The correct advice was given to you in relation to dealing with debt collectors, which was to ignore unless you receive county court papers from UKPC (which has now happened).

You were asked and you said you would upload a photo of the letter you received from SCS - which did not materialise and your thread fizzled out.

Are these court papers from the Northampton County Court Bulk Handling Centre with a seal mark? If so you must acknowledge service of these to give you 14 more days to develop your defence. You do not put anything at this stage in the defence box - nothing means just that, no 'N/A' or 'To Follow' NOTHING! BLANK!

Then you need to read post #1 of the newbies sticky (and follow the links) in the section headed SMALL CLAIM? to put you on the right lines for taking this forward.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Ignoring most PPCs has not been advised since 2012!

And is this a different case or in any way related to the thread you already have going?

This is the same case, the letter is from the county court business centre which is titled claim form.

Shall I try and upload the forms? so you can advice?

It has an acknowledgment of service section which I am not sure what I should do. You suggested that I should not write anything, meaning no name no signature etc?

Following that section is a section headed admission which is another form I am not sure about, all of this is overwhelming.

The thread suggested, is hard to understand for myself reason why I wanted extra advice.

    Thanks

You don't put any form of defence in at this stage. It didn't mean not to put your name and address!

Have you read the sticky yet? You will need to do a good bit of work yourself to bat this off.

Yes I have read the sticky, I'm not sure what I should do tbh. I am unclear on what to do and what happens and why I do for acknowledgement.

Post 2 of this thread tells you where to start. Follow the links that tell you what to do. You can also purchase a guide to court from the Parking-Prankster from his blog website for a few quid.

    Yes!

Their claim, particularly the amount they are wanting, is completely unwarranted. If you want to get rid of it, you could try offering a smaller amount (Parking Eye have been known to settle for as little as £25). DO NOT pay the full amount - it's been artificially inflated to suit their greed. Even if you were to defend in court and lose, it's highly unlikely you'd end up paying the full amount.
