CD Burning software

Downloaded CDBurnerXP, specifying without candy and Avast found - guess what - candy.
So I'll change my original question:
Which CD/DVD software, that I can buy, is clean and will best
do the job?
Why do you want to pay money?! Burning CDs/DVDs is basic computer functionality.
DeepBurner is clean and does the job for ISO images and data CDs/DVDs. I've been using it for a decade or so.
Apparently Windows Media Player can burn CDs/DVDs too:

I haven't used it, but a quick search for open source software brought up this, which looks pretty good:
http://infrarecorder.org/
There's even a Wikipedia page for it:

Windows 10 - Media Player won't burn
Infrarecorder- seems to go up to Windows 7- I have to check to see if it is windows 10 compatible0 -

Ah... that seems to be a known bug.
https://sourceforge.net/p/infrarecorder/bugs/729/
It looks like the portable version works on Windows 10.
Or you could just delete the settings.xml file before running Infrarecorder, which should work round the issue. If you copy the code below into a plain text file with a .bat file extension, you can double-click that delete the file and start Infrarecorder automatically.@echo off del /q "%HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%\AppData\Roaming\InfraRecorder\settings.xml" START "" "%PROGRAMFILES(X86)%\Infrarecorder\Infrarecorder.exe"
N.B. I've guessed the path to the Infrarecorder executable, so you might need to change that.0 -
whoah! I wanted a cd burner, now I have to start messing around with code and ".bat files" (whatever they are)0

Ashampoo doesn't seem to work well with windows 100

Downloading from Softpedia should be ok, they only provide rubbish free clean versions.

Or try Burnaware.

BurnAware and CDBurnerXP are good free ones.
Or if neither are ok, there's a free basic version of Nero Burning Rom.

esuhl - ?. I was just trying to point out that I - like many others I suspect - have neither the ability or know-how to do these things. So in my case it isn't really up to me what to do since I don't have the ability or knowledge (or time for that matter) to follow your advice.
no offence was intended - and none taken0 -

Did you really choose Default installer (Without OpenCandy)?0
