We are renting privatly(sp) of my FIL and MIL and hope to never move.problem with moving the boys in there is that there would only be enough room for a single bed and maybe a wardrobe and if they needed the toilet in the middle of the night they would have to walk through the the kitchen, livingroom and down the hall, we live in a small bungalow. It would be the same for my daughter and i'd have to leave lights on or make the switches lower.
Have you contacted charities to do with cerebral palsy and schizophrenia, perhaps they can help?Torgwen.....................

Thanks everyone for all your kind words and advice. I managed today to get a letter from my DD head teacher supporting from an ectucational(sp) view that she spent must of last year exhausted because of the sleeping arrangements.
Also i have been in contact with the health visitor and she is also doing a letter of support and i have to lift that tomorrow morning.
Husbands cpn also phoned me this evening saying they wouldn't be able to get a letter out in time but will ring her themselves on wednesday and expain how much stress and pressure is being put on the family and that the stress is not helping my husband any.
The health visitor also said that if she says no then i should take it to MP's.
Fran= yes this is FIL's house but he doesn't have that kind of money. I haven't contacted any charities(sp), but i will look into the carers center.
Gillianh2= i have the letter from the head now. I think my worse fear is me completely breaking down in front of this woman, i so afraid of her saying no.
Amibovered= Yes she has a consultant but she is so hard to get a hold off. I asked before for letters from physio and speech but each said it wasn't there place to write letters and same with GP as he doesn't see her for her cerebral palsy, but the cpn today said to me that it wasn't that they couldn't (as they should be there to offer support) but that they just didn't want to.
Going to go now and tidy up and try and take my mind of it, i think a friend of mine might know the woman who's coming out so i'm gonna give her a ring and see. I need to also do out a list of questions, not really sure what to ask? I'm so nervous..Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0 -
Good luck! I hope you get some of the help you should.Torgwen..........

Hi everyone just an update, the ot thinks that DD does need a room of her own and is to do a report and send it to the board and they will then say yes or no, i'm so happy as last time it didn't get this far the ot just said no. We now wait for 4 weeks until the decision is made. I have heard in the past that if the ot agrees and put's a report forward, then it is more likely that the board will agree but i'm not sure how true this is, i'm just hoping for the best and trying not to get my hopes up to much.
Thank you for all your advice and i will keep this post updated when we get the decision weather good or bad and what we'll do next as it may benefit someone in the future.Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0 -
where does MIL and FIL live.If they have their own house and you are renting of them then your rent goes to them and they should maintain it.Have they seen the damp and all the work that wants doing. You say that they have not got thatsort of money where does your rent money go.0

My FIL and MIL are pretty much retired now, my FIl say's that it isn't damp but condensation (i disagree). When we first moved here it was discussed that he would look after the outside and we look after the inside. I'm gonna post a picture later of what i think is damp, just to make sure i'm right.Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0

Yes but they own the house so should still maintain it.Its like renting of the council if you have a tiles come off the roof or your heating breakes down you do not pay for it to be mend you just phone them up and they get someone out to repair it and they pay.YOU ARE ONLY RENTING YOU DO NOT OWN IT.
My dad rents a house out and if anything goes wrong in the house like rain comimg in or something breaks he has a obligation to get get it fixed within 2-3 days.0 -
Yes but the difference is that your dad rents to someone that is not family and he agreed to carry out such work. It was agreed from the start that we would look after the inside of the house as when the time comes WE WILL OWN the house. It is in the tenancy agreement that we are to carry out the work.Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0
