I'm sorry if you think that. This thread just seems to be to poke fun at people who need to YS shop.
I saw the original spot on This Morning and thought pretty much the same as I've posted above about the different shops this woman must visit.
FWIW, although I'm in a position now that I don't need to YS shop, in the past - waaaay before shops reduced stuff - I was very financially strapped.
If you've read any of the OP's other posts, you'll know that they can be ascerbic.0 -

Save your 1 pint bottles and then refill them from a 4 pint bottle and put in the freezer FF have 3.5pints of milk x2 for £1 get it as and when you pass if you have one close by.Why pay full price when you may get it YS

In fairness to Kelly, the frugal grub blogger, I live in the same town and I could visit Sainsbury's, Asda, M&S and Morrisons within 30 mins and throw in visits to Aldi,Lidl, Home bargains and Poundland as well,
Co-op and B&M 2 mins out of town, as is small Tesco. The only shop you'd even need a car for is Waitrose.
It does depend on where you live. Personally I'm happy to watch Kelly and see how the blog develops. She's only been at it for a couple of months.Dor0 -

Be careful with this plan. Plastic milk cartons tend to retain a smell, however much you rinse them, and it turns sour eventually.
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

It all comes down to what suits us personally and what length we are prepared to go to. I work all week and the last thing I want to do is visit supermarkets at reduction time and then plan around my haul, it could be very different if I wasn't tired.
I have tried shopping in aldi, but it was always packed and if I waited until last thing at night there were empty shelves.
So I returned to online shopping, free delivery. I shop for three of us and I can easily look at the half price offers and plan around that. Usually costs between £40 to £50 per week. But that also includes washing stuff and toiletries and packed lunch stuff.
It suits us and saves me time.0 -
You are right JIL, time is often more precious than money. Although I'm surprised you let a "packed" Aldi put you off shopping there.
Was it the car park was full so you didn't bother staying? I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes for another shopper to vacate their space.
Or maybe the store was full of other shoppers too? Sign of a busy successful store with rapid turn around of stock so you're guaranteed fresh supplies.
Or maybe there was a queue at the tills? Be patient, if there's ever more than two people queuing at a till they'll open more tills immediately to accommodate customers.
For example, yesterday I seemed to hit the store at a lull of shopper activity (around 7pm) so there was only one till operative whilst the rest of the staff were refilling shelves etc. By the time I'd finished my shopping half an hour or so later, there'd been an influx of customers so four extra tills had opened by the time I hit checkout.
I was in and out of the store within 40 mins having done a month's worth of shopping without worrying about cost or seeking out reduced priced items.0
