There are only two of us. I like my milk fresh. We use a pint over two days. Any longer than that it goes off. Once opened they go off!it is all the same .. you bought it all today so it would be just as 'fresh' from a 1 pint carton as a 6 pint... I got 3x 4pint cartons today.. they all have the date of the 13th on them.. whichever I open first is no more or less fresh than the one I open last surely.. ???0 -
I agree my four Pinter dated 19/4 has just been finished today. No croutons in it, it smelled OK so we just kept using it.
Same here! I'm still using milk I bought over two weeks ago and it's still fresh and absolutely fine to use. I can't stomach milk on the turn so would know immediately it started to lose its freshness.
If milk is going off soon after being opened then it's not being stored at the correct temperature or enduring lots of temperature fluctuations. So maybe someone is leaving it out in the worktop after making drinks or maybe the fridge thermostat isn't working efficiently.0 -
Yes, but how long is the milk open for?0

From the day I bought it. Or do you mean each time I use it? If so, then literally as long as it takes to pour whatever I need then is immediately replaced back in the fridge.0 -
I've got a 2 ltr whole milk bought on 26th at Wilko for 30p. Still fine.
IlonaI love skip diving.

Post your receipt then and prove it?happydays89 wrote: »I shop at 7pm in tesco and can buy a months worth of meals for two of us for less than £20.I buy a very varied amount of meat and fish.I only buy fruit and veg when it's reduced to between 2p and 10p a pack.Last night I managed to buy 8 salmon portions for 8p each,I only shop 2 evenings a week and freeze as much as I can,veg is made into soups.i know I am very lucky to live in an area where people don't really bother with reduced food.i also stock the freezer with 10p bakery items.Good luck to her if she prepared to put the hours in and search out reduced items.
And I don't wear a bra0
