But what price do you put on your time?

And does she drive to various different shops to hunt out the bargains? And if so, how much is she spending on petrol over & above what she would do if she did a main shop in one place?

It takes me 30 mins twice a week, our tesco is a 1 mile away and I only take the car because I have a lot to carry home, sometimes my husband comes with me which is better because he can grab the bakery bargains and I can do the meat and fruit and veg section.

I was actually referring to the woman who appeared on This Morning.

She was filmed outside Coop, then went to M&S, also mentioned Waitrose and Tesco.
That's a lot of shops to get round.
She was off to the shops at 5pm. I would have thought that a Mum would be more concerned with feeding her kids and making sure they did their homework.

There was a lot of dairy in that starter and main course.
One would hope they didn't eat like that every day otherwise she's storing up some trouble for her kids.
Actually the article us not about my shop for two at less than £20, but thus do called shopper who has to forage for left overs! Comment.

My facebuck think she has nothing better to do.
I didn't get the impression she had to forage for left-overs, she just wanted to get her 15 minutes of fame.

Not sure - this is her blog:

Hi, thank you for visiting Reduced Grub. My name is Kelly and i am a 40 year old Mum to a 10 year old and a Teenager ( HELP !!). As a mum , I feel I owe it to my sprogoons to feed them a decent diet , and a constant stream of convenience crap is not only full of rubbish but expensive. (check out the ingredients!!!)
    "sprogoons"?
    Really? :rotfl:

Not only does she mention the shops in my post above ( Coop, then went to M&S, also mentioned Waitrose and Tesco), she's also got reduced items from Asda, Sainsburys & Morrisons.
    Busy lady.

    That's her

The article I read was just a fluffed up piece just telling you the times that the supermarkets do their reductions , nothing that anyone who is on this board doesn't already know :)

Then of course it doesn't always work out as she says. I was in M&S Sunday at 4pm thinking the last wave of reductions would be starting, and nope, still only the first done. Now the shelves were heaving under ys ( just not reduced enough ) but my time was more important so I left empty handed

Last time I got a good haul was Christmas

If I was to attempt to visit all those stores in one day I'd probably have to do over 100 mile round trip :rotfl:

One does wonder if she can feed her family on £20 per week but spends £150 on petrol.

Some people just can't see the bigger picture.

Like another poster, I've noticed that the Tesco Metro that I used to pop into on the way to the pub doesn't seem to have much YS stuff any more (although yesterday the reduced bread shelf was piled high with burger buns - clearly the bad weather on Bank Holiday Monday scuppered the BBQs).

Our local Tesco Extra only reduces stuff by pennies when I'm in there (usually mornings) although I sometimes pick up some cooked meat from the deli half price.
TBH, I can't be a**sed to go up at 5pm or 7pm to look for the mega bargains that are possibly there for the asking, at that time I'm either out or chillin' with a G&T catching up with TV programmes I've missed.

This thread just seems to be to poke fun at people who need to YS shop.
