I did some digging around & found out our house is freehold not leasehold ( you were right proDave- thanks for bringing that up as it made me check.
We pay 'chief rent' of £2.50 a year not ground rent ( I don't know what it is tbh) & ive checked the title of the property, so I've got the EA to change it on the listing as it might be putting people off.
How is everyone else getting on? The EA said things are very quiet this week0 -
Well out of the blue we have a viewing tomorrow. You never know.0

Fingers crossed!0

Good luck Dave, hope they make an offer
Hi Tomryan, that's great that you've had an offer accepted on your new home, I hope your flat sells quickly.
We've got another viewing on our house tomorrow, he's a buy-to-let investor apparently. There's a second viewing on mum's house next week, so planning to travel to her house for a day over the weekend and do some more clearing. The viewer has already asked whether curtains etc will be left in the house, and if we have the user manuals for the boiler, alarm etc, so he seems quite interested.SPC # 1150 -
If you have a wee look at my thread further down, we have just had an offer accepted in a private sale. The seller made contact with us after I posted in another forum. Maybe worth looking in the "looking for a house to buy" thread and seeing if anyone is looking in your area.
We have been extremely lucky. Houses in our area rarely go for under the valuation price and always go to closing dates. We wouldn't have had a look in if this hadn't happened.
Mortgage approved today and we move in the 18th April!
Still can't believe itLBM: 09/12/2008
[strike]£36000[/strike] £0 on 4 cards and a personal loan. Debt Remedy. Signed with CCCS on 14/01/2009 started Feb 2009. Finished March 2016
Lessons learned and facing the struggle have made my life better than I ever thought it could be. Thank you Stepchange and DFW forum :beer:0 -
Wow, this thread had gone very quiet. Hopefully it's because you've all had great offers on your properties, and have now moved over to the 'waiting to exchange thread'.
Dave, how did the viewing go?
We've got 2 viewings on mum's house this week. One of them is booked in for a 2 hour viewing as he's bringing a chartered surveyor with him, and wants to do a detailed evaluation of the house.SPC # 1150 -
zero luck for us so far...have given notice to our estate agent and planning on trying a new one in a month or 2, see if that helps. Probably won't, but i cant see what we have to lose
good luck cinders - that sounds promising0 -
I thought our viewing went well. they seemed to like everything about the house and it's location, except for the fact it has wooden windows. I pointed out they were all sanded and re varnished last autumn so should be okay without any maintenance.
I know he had at least 2 more houses to look at, so kowing my luck, he will find an equally nice one with UPVC windows.
the longer it goes without the phone ringing the less hopeful I am.0 -
Thank you hmd, I have my fingers crossed
Dave, maybe your EA is just having difficulty getting hold of the viewers.SPC # 1150 -
Well I'm back on the list. The property I was going to buy wasn't what I thought it was ( to much work ) so I pulled out, and after the back and throwing with my buyer. Sold the same place to her 3 times in 6 weeks . Said I would have to put back completion until I found somewhere else. I did offer some incentives . She pulled out saying she wanted to buy somewhere by this Friday 0
