  • Thanks Stephie. Not too bad.
I think you are doing brilliantly for viewings. That is as many as we have had together.

It is definitely more challenging with three kids and a stinky Labrador.

Even more challenging when you throw in a stupid, unrealistic asking price and a deluded vendor.
  • So I don't want to derail and maybe this is another thread but I have been thinking about things we currently have/do at home that I would definitely want to carry over to our next place. Also things I would like to do more.

So I love having open fires/woodburners for example.

I would like to spend more time in the garden.

    What about you guys?
  • It's now 15 weeks our property has been on the market and still not even a viewer. At least we continue to take some comfort that it has been pretty much the same all over the area.

We have an appointment with the solicitor in January to discuss how we proceed. I'd imagine we will have to lower the price again quite considerably but that means we can't afford the house we fancy unless they were to lower too so goodness knows what to do.
  • I feel your pain... I'm currently struggling to sell my 12 year old fiesta 1.1 for enough money to enable me to buy the brand new Porsche I've got my eye on... it's soooo frustrating.

I'm not sure what prompts your sarcasm, make you feel good?

It's anger and frustration. There are many out there who have made bad decisions, fallen foul of circumstances, or never quite had the breaks.

For whatever reason, they feel entitled to taunt others on mutual support threads like this, and as it's an open forum, you'll have to put up with their interjections.

It was much the same in 2008, when we had a thread similar to this one going.

In answer to what you said at the end of your post, it's possible if you're moving within a market which is stalled, that your seller could be persuaded to drop too. We were at the top of the chain in '08 and we did just that in order to get sold.

Was it the right decision? That's a whole other story!:rotfl:
  • The market here has been pretty much dead for months due to the oil industry downturn here. There are some houses that have been on the market for over a year now.

We have no offer or anything in on any house. Knowing how bad things are here it would be a waste of time. Hoping that things might pick up a little after the New Year.

Oh poor them .... :)...and there are also Winners out there who took on massive property debt at the height of the biggest property bubble in history, with the lowest interest rates on record.....Go Winners....keep Winning.....:rotfl:
  • Thanks for the clarity Davesnave.
Birdman would you mind not quoting them (it has their hands down their pants oscillating furiously!)

So our listing with estate agent #4 was due to go live on boxing day but...nothing. A really great start. She is not responding to email either (before or after Christmas).

We have however seen the perfect place to buy...again!
