That's beautiful Gers, thank you for sharing. Yes, all of the bluebells here are faded now too so enjoy yours while you still can!

A beautiful picture gers, our bluebells are well past their best now too.0

It's odd about the flowers - I am about 200 yards, as the crow flies, from this huge wood of bluebells and yet mine came out about three weeks before them. My garden is walled but not that sheltered, unfortunately.
The whole area here has bluebells galore just now.0 -
I wonder if it's soil temperature? My thinking is that woodland soil would be more shaded than garden soil, even when the trees were bare, so there'd be less sunlight getting through to warm up the ground and bring it to the right temperature to wake the bulbs up. I'm in the far south-eastern corner of the country and our plants here seem to come into flower a bit earlier than in other parts of the country, so I'm guessing this must have something to do with temperature and length of daylight.
It IS just a guess though, I don't know for certain!0 -

We've moved to Surrey recently, and that's the first time I saw bluebells in such abundance..

Is there an easy way to tell native bluebells from the imported ones would you know? I saw some in a different wood recently, their stems were much longer than others I've seen this year and their flowers were less profuse. I wondered if these might be the native species? Thanks.0 -
