I find it rather irritating that they require employment/salary information just to open a savings account. Presumably this is for KYC purposes rather than to fulfil money laundering requirements?

Well I'm not impressed so far.
Me neither. I paid £1K on May 3, followed by £14,240 on May 6, both by bank transfer. They finally sent me a letter today, 14th, confirming those deposits. Value date for both is May 6th. They also hadn't aligned the paper properly in their printer, so a lot of the text of the letter has dropped off the left hand side of the paper and I can only guess what they mean. I had to phone them again to ask for the letter to be re-sent in readable format. The good news is that they have a freefone number, and that their CS operatives seem to be ok.

I had also requested a transfer-in from Nationwide. This seems to get processed by cheque, and will be credited on the date Al Rayan receive the cheque. My Nationwide ISA vanished from my online banking on Tuesday this week but Al Rayan haven't as yet received it. It's all still within the max ISA transfer timescale but it doesn't look like it will be one of the faster ISA transfers. I did one from HSBC to Nationwide in April, and that was fully completed within 2 days of my request.

Now have to wait for a letter to stated what's in the ISA.

    Even less impressed.

Rang CS last week re the discrepancy of what's in the account.

Told it would be sorted and backdated.

    Told they were very busy,,,

Now get an email thanking me for opening the account (1 month earlier) and saying it would be active when I deposit £1K in it.

    Did this a month ago....

Confirmed the Full amount was in there.

I suggested a "person" write to me stating this.

Can anyone point me towards the ISA transfer form on their site? The search function seems next to useless.

If you go to their cash ISA pages, you will find a heading called Forms and Leaflets.

What a lot of complaining on here.

If you don't want a 2 per cent 120 day notice isa or 1.9 per cent for a one year fixed rate there are plenty of providers that will offer you 1 per cent or less. Maybe you should try them instead.

Clearly they are overwhelmed given their rates so give them a chance. I have experienced zero problems with them.

Had a letter through this morning changing my rate on my 120 day notice that I'd opened only last month from 2% to 1.55% from November. Time to give notice I think...

    Well thats your choice.

And you still get 2% until 5 November on a short term notice account.
  • Got my letter this morning, but I'd already noticed that it was showing at that rate on the product page (presumably going be at that rate immediately for new customers?)
