Bedrooms without windows?

Options
Would you buy a flat where the bedrooms have no windows?

I find the idea that there is a demand for this very strange.

refurbishment by Galliard Homes in Luton.

They are officially describing the properties as studios, but pricing as 2 beds.

This one even has 2 bathrooms.

This one only has one window in the entire property.

Wouldn't bother me. Though what ventilation system is in place.
  • Never.
Even in the middle of winter I need to keep the window slightly open or else I wake up in the night feeling like I'm suffocating!

There are a number of properties around me built into rocky outcrops that have no windows other than to the front; depending on the configuration the rooms at the back have no natural light. It actually seems to be a selling feature of the properties and they have a premium. xxx

If you live in Luton, having no windows is a bonus. Blocks out the horrible view of Luton.

Why does a one bed house need two bathrooms?

So you can rent one out to a lodger when the mortgage on the massive price tag becomes too much.

A length of kitchen worktop on the top of a bath doubles as a kitchen prep area for them + they can put a blow up mattress on that as a bed. Win!

The shower curtain rail doubles up as a wardrobe hanging rail.

What they're really up to though is that you'd rent out one of the bedrooms to a lodger. You'd either take the study without windows yourself.... or keep the en-suite room with a window for yourself and rent out the dark space to somebody.... maybe a blind person wouldn't even care! They can't say that's why it's like that, but they know people will see/think of it and buy it for that purpose.... without them having to get PP for something 'dodgy'

As they are studios, the bedroom is just an area in the main living space, which does have windows for ventilation.

Wouldn't bother me, in fact it would be quite pleasant not to be sleeping in a draught!
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D
