I just wanted to post to echo everything else in this thread and to hopefully stop anyone else trying to switch to IRESA.
In my case I've been waiting 10 weeks, they have taken two direct debit payments and still no evidence that my switch is really happening. I can't enter meter readings and I haven't been able to get a reply out of them in the last week.
I am currently considering asking my bank to reverse the direct debits, and I definitely won't allow any more to be taken. What are peoples views on reversing the direct debit? Might this create more problems than it solves?
I have just sent an email to OFGEM pointing out my problems and suggesting they are not currently fit to be a supplier.. I suggest the more people that do this the better, even if it doesn't individually help us.
Thanks,

Anyfeel free to waste your time. If you don't want to listen to me, listen to HengusPersonally, I would make a report to consumeraffairs@ofgem.gov.uk with any screenshots that you have pointing out that Iresa is failing to meet its SLC obligations as the gaining supplier. Ofgem is taking an interest.0 -
Well, I pondered over whether to switch my electric to Iresa or not for a few days and did lots of reading and even called them and spoke to a nice chap who really put my mind at ease about the swop, eventually I took the leap of faith and I'm glad to say the whole process has been super smooth. Old Supplier have been provided with correct closing reading and so far everything is good. Take a look at the comments on Trust Pilot. My complaint is now at the Ombudsman.
Google to find the trust pilot reviews. I am unable to post the link.0 -
I have found Iresa extremely poor at responding to emails when there is an issue.
Also, I have just received my first gas bill and they have applied what they call a 'multiplier' (unexplained) to the number of KWh I have been charged for, charging me for almost 11 times more gas than I've actually used. They have failed to reply to my email about it. Also, they make it hard to find a phone number, but when I did find a number and tried to phone to get the bill changed, I was in a queue of over 30 people, so had to ring off.
In addition, each time you send a reminder email to home@iresa.co.uk , it starts a new email thread on your online account which makes the whole situation very confusing.0 -

The multiplier is for the conversion from supplied volume (m³ or ft³) to billed energy (kWh). It is a normal part of any gas bill. It is explained, see the yellow box near the bottom of page 2.
There probably is an error though, they probably printed 11.1, used 11.4, and should have used something in between depending on where you live, but the error will be a few pence rather than a factor of 11 (not to say they shouldn't get it right).3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day).
