Next time you go for a meal take a variety of notes and change so you have the right amount and then say there's mine plus a tip :A.

Thank you both Tina and Bobarella. It means so much to get encouragement! I tried to quote you, but it doesn't appear to have worked. Oops.
Diary: I'll spare you the details but now have just £30 until I'm paid on the 20th May. The good thing is that I have food in the freezer. Bad thing is I have to pay petrol (at least £15), TV licence and phone. I like a challenge and this will be one! It will also force me to budget better next month. I have no children or pets (lost my lovely Cocker Spaniel last year) so no one will suffer but me. Also had a massive row with BF today. We both said nasty things. May be terminal, may not but I'm unlikely to see him for 2 weeks so we'll both have some breathing space.
Lovely to see the sun today and more tomorrow! Always makes things feel better.

So much for making £30 last...
My TV licence and £10 petrol came out of my account as well as £5.50 that I spent at a Supermarket. My mobile phone payment is £7.50 and that is due tomorrow. SO I have had to give up and extend the overdraft I have so carefully been paying back at £50 a month (from £900), I got it down to £550 and now it is back to £600.:( Feeling cross with myself, but £50 to buy petrol/ food for 11 days is not a fortune. I would have gone for less but it has to be in multiples of £50. And the petrol was on red and I have no credit cards. Still. Horrible to see OD going UP. I will use as little of it as possible and try harder to budget properly next month. I need a spending app of some kind - or even an old fashioned notebook. Or the envelope system..
BF and I are speaking again. I'm happy about that! He is off to Sweden for a week and I won't see him for a little while. I will miss him, but he is a bad influence! Even if we are trying to be good and avoid the pub, restaurants, gigs etc etc.. wine and snacks, video hire are too often involved and this all adds up!
Wishing everyone a lovely Monday. Gorgeous evening again here.

Hello diary,
Found a free spending app and planning to see how I go using it for a month - I wasn't keeping track of the budget I prepared and must have gone badly wrong to be so broke about a week after I got paid...
This app is great because it lists all spending which you can categorise and then shows you graphs of where it is all going. I am going to check how much I actually need per month in each category as I think I may spend more in petrol but less in food. Will be good to know. Will also help me to see where I waste money - apart from the obvious which for me is eating and drinking out. I'm hoping seeing how much it is will shock me out of it. Tried to limit it last month but just ended up not counting...
I now have £12.16 in the bank and £2.56 in my purse. Also have petrol and food for a week so no need to panic. This weekend I will do the garden and go on bike rides so all healthy, free stuff. BF in Sweden and I have no plans to go out. Looking forward to a quiet but productive (hopefully) weekend. Paid on the 20th so a week to go. To stick to my £650/ month off my debt I will need to sell stuff. I will have a big sort this weekend and get stuff photo'd. A massive side benefit will be a declutter!! I am going to aim for £100 off the debt in this way. I am so impatient to see the totals go down: 1 week and 1 day...
Happy Thursday all.
