Pleased to see you again! Thanks for your kind words, although I do not think that I have quite persuaded BF of the benefits of frugality as yet! But he tells me he is being "quite careful" on his second mini break in as many months. Sadly he also seems to think that because beer is cheap in Spain it's OK for him to drink more of it. Hmmmm.

Hi Diary,
Kept a spending log this month and won't be spending at all this weekend. Paid Monday!!!!!:j
Just posting it here so I can remember. I have worked out that my non- debt related spending was £715.15 - less gifts - May/ June was expensive for prezzies so £577.65 for living costs and essential bills and going out. I went out less than usual but still did lots of fun things - gigs/ meals out and take-aways. I'm sure many hard core debt slayers would not rate my efforts but I think it was OK!?? I'll be paid on Monday and update my signature - exciting!! But am a little worried about expenses for next month that will make it a lot harder to stay on track. I'll do my best. I get such a thrill seeing the totals go down...
In £2130 - after tax and student loan £177/ month for that, there's about £2500 left on the student loan, it's not in my totals because it comes out automatically..
Spends May 20 - June 20th
Mortgage - £655.56 - mortgage on UK house and sent some to Spain for shortfall from rent
loans - £460.59 (bank loan, £200 off overdraft plus OD interest and £50 repaid to BF)
Credit cards - £169.20
Utilities £168 water, gas, council tax
Charity/ gifts £137.50 gifts for BF and sister plus charity payments etc
Food £134.96 - will work on getting this down...
Savings £129.50
Petrol £100.41 including a lot of driving over half term
Eating out £55.39 - way lower than usual
Drinks out £35.60 - much less than normal
Phone/internet £25.10 mobile and home broadband
Take away £23.47 for me and BF
Household - £10 veg plants and cleaning products
Ents £9.25 cinema trip
Toiletries £7.08
Out: £2146.81 - a little more than my salary - difference was from things I sold - also put some money into small savings pots for car, new computer and holiday fund from sales. Still need to do more on this, though!
Almost £1300(!!!!!) spent on mortgage and debt repayment...Thinking of all the great things I could do without paying that every month....:o
Exhausting week for me. Still no sign of long absent colleagues and having to spend a couple of extra hours a day sorting their cover, supporting the cover teaches and this week doing their reports. Has to be done, but I am struggling at the moment. The weekend couldn't come soon enough!
With BF away, I'm actually excited to have a weekend at home, mooching around doing housework, the washing and not wishing AT ALL that I was in Barcelona, too.... Hopefully at least there will be a little sun. Then I can tackle the garden - wish it would stop growing a bit!
Have a fab weekend all,

Hi Diary,
Bit of a financial disaster. Seems like the tenant in Spain has stopped paying the rent - so will need to send £500 over there this month. This means minimum payments on everything and no chance of paying more off my overdraft and CC.
It's frustrating and annoying because I can't get hold of either the agent or the bank to find out exactly what the position is.
Hoping for some news on Monday. But not holding my breath...
Warmish and looking like it might be a pleasant day - so life's not all bad! The lawn may get cut at last.

Oh my word! That's horrible news!
One of our renters did the same thing and we had to go to court to get them out. It was the first time in thirty yrs of having rentals that we had someone not pay. I hope this is resolved quickly for you.Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Thanks, Mila. Sadly, have had no end of issues with letting agents and tenants in Spain. Usually the tenant disappears leaving the house in a state with huge electric and water bills for me to pay.
Super annoying especially as this one had been in since January and was actually asking about buying the place. I chased the letting agent again and the bank have confirmed that last month's payment did go through on the 18th. (due the first) so I guess there's still some hope. I sent 300€ over today, which almost clears the arrears, and agreed to send a little more if there is no sign of rent by the end of the week. You never know....
Pay day today - off to change my signature - not as low as I'd like but at least it's heading down!!:j

So, Diary..time for an update.
I won't hit my targets this month... but savings are up, loan is down so we're baby stepping in the right direction. I think I can get back on track over the year and will aim to do so.
The debts stack up as follows in the order I will tackle them...
OD - now £350 - that's the one I am focussing on as it is 17.9% (aimed for £200 this month:()
MB&A - now £880 fixed at 4.9%
H$BC card - now £3294.55 on 0% way into next year.
H$BC loan - now £5961.24 I pay £205 pcm 3.7% but will get some interest back if I pay it early...
A total of £10484 and savings are £625 so technically....less than 10K!!! :j:j
I do love, love, love payday!! Wish is weren't a month 'til the next...!!
Not such a bad day at work today. Heaps of work to get on with whilst I watch the football. BF is sending lots of pathetic texts about how "ill" he is, and this after the texts expressing his undying love and proposing marriage - at 3a.m.... No darling, it's a hangover AGAIN. Why can't he set foot outside of the country without feeling the need to go overboard on the local alcohol?? And why does he expect sympathy??!! I've said he won't get any from me. Learn your lesson - don't part with your 20s friends when you're 40! So there!
Wishing everyone a happy Monday! XxGOAL - debt free (except mortgage) by October 2017.

Well at least he knows he loves you when he's drunk which is always a plus>>>knowing men and thir testosterone.
But repeated such events are just so irritating and frustrating! Y
My DH has decided he is a young kid again now that he has retired. Always with his friends getting high and drinking.... And he's 67 now! Do they ever grow up??
That's good news on your renter even though it was so late. I'm hoping it all straightens out because you are doing so well on cutting down debt. Almost a thousand in less than two months! Seriously excellent!Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Thanks, Mila. Although maybe not so good to know he's unlikely to ever grow up!
