Talking of addresses, in your first post are you simply saying they replied that they could not handle an appeal without 'an address'? They were right. It didn't read to me that they were asking for the DRIVER'S address.
HTH
Sorry for delay in replying, this is the actual question which was asked when we initially logged the appeal, to which we answered immediately (but by hitting reply to the email not scrolling to the bottom to realise it said AUTOMATED EMAIL please reply to this email address ..........)
If your email is in relation to a Parking Charge Notice appeal ("PCN"), please be advised that if you have not included your:
PCN Number, full name, contact telephone number, email address & full postal address, we will be unable to log your appeal. You will also need to confirm whether you were the driver of the vehicle at the relevant time, the registered keeper of the vehicle or a 3rd party representing either the driver or the keeper.0 -
You're up against a barely coherent group of cowboys, so you stand a good chance. If it even goes that far there's a chance they won't even turn up. They don't want to do court (they lose money even if they win), it's all about the scare tactic.
Pretty much, but it's usually pretty incohorent. If something like that does turn up, come back here and we'll walk you through how to handle it, but it's quite likely you won't see anything beyond the threat letters.
Update, we've now had a solicitors letter from CSB Solicitors saying pay outstanding balance of £160 or confirm in writing your proposals in respect of this debt, if not additional costs of £202.25 with issuing a claim any subsequent enforcement action could include (but not limited) to the following: then a breakddown of £202.25 warant fees, solicitors costs, claim issue etc
Any recommendations of what we should do now? Thanks for any guidance in advance.0 -
Probably just another debt collector begging letter. What exactly does it say about legal action? Does it state that they will begin legal action, or merely that "we may recommend to our client..." or some such weasel words? Does it state who their client is? (not just a mention of a name, but "our client is..." or "we act for..")0

Dear CSB Solicitors,
Your client has failed to follow the industry standard appeals process and provide access to an independent appeals service. I confirm I am willing to use Alternative Debt Resolution to attempt to settle this matter. Otherwise, according to practice directions I will ask for sanctions against your client and my full costs, regardless of the result.
Please note that any costs over those allowed in practice direction 27.14 will be strongly opposed

If your client wishes to use the courts to settle the matter, I suggest we follow the pre-court protocol and you issue a letter before claim compliant with practice directionsDedicated to driving up standards in parking0 -

[1] - so not instructed by LPS!
[2] - 'MAY' (says it all)
[3] - don't pay LPS but pay UCS (the debt collector)
This is not a LBCCC - so file it, but don't respond. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I got the same one of what you have got. What they sent you is a debt collector attempt, it is not a real solicitor letter as it is fake letter. What they are trying to do is to scare you off to make you to pay which it don't really mean anything so you are safe to ignore it. They can't take you to court as they have no powers.
I have ignore it so guess what?
