Barclays closed acc without explanation

I take you didn't attempt to transfer the Barclays account to your Nationwide account?

How could it be transferred if it was closed before Nationwide account was opened?

Sometimes a bank will accept you and then close the account shortly afterwards. If Nationwide do this, then it would suggest that Barclays have placed a marker.

The accounts were not able to be transferred. I have written to barclays asking them to confirm in writing that the account is now closed an there will be no SO or DDs taken from the account.
If Will give the nationwide account a week or so before I start moving things. I have until about a week before pay day to sort.

Going to call things like car insurance tomorrow and make a payment on my credit card (if they will let me) so at least I wont have missed a payment. I will pay the card off with the cash I have waiting.
