Hi :T. Time for a new diary my old one started in 2009 ,I don't know how to link to it but it was called "loved life a wee bit too much".
I had my lbm in 2009 and since then have been on a dmp for me and a self managed dmp for hubs.
A few things which I have learnt is to run your home as you would a business. Buy in at the best price, shop around , meal plan don't waste anything. Use up things before buying new. It's these little things which bring big changes.:money:
Also I have learnt to include everything in the budget inc hair boiler servicing birthdays Christmas I add up yearly cost and divide by 12
.

hiya, I've subscribed
I love the thought of running your home like a business! Although I don't have my own home yet (as you know I'm trying to get there
) I think that should apply to life as a whole. Food for thought.

I love the title of this thread, I'm going to use that myself as I have definitely been getting quite a lot of wisdom glitter lately! Shame the wisdom has followed me though!Collect Moments Not Things0

I have read all 70 pages of your last diary. Phew...Lots of wisdom there...:money: I've just subscribed to your new diary. I think you last said you would be debt free some time in 2017...But dates and circumstances change..
I am considering a second job myself to speed up debt repayment. You seem to have managed both jobs and caring for a family too, so that gives me hope
If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
Emergency fund 350/1000
Buffer fund 100/100

I will be completely debt free in about 7 years about.... I am taking the scenic route I don't want to throw all my cash at it and be miserable I will pay what I owe not a penny less

Well thank you for all your lovely replies. Another "wisdom" gem what helps me is when ds is on holidays from school save the dinner money and when you are not working save the petrol money and put in a "pot" for what you feel is needed.:money:Also as I said on my other diary don't venture out without drinks snacks such as a cereal bar it's when you get stuck it becomes a £5 spend in Gre££s or md'$.
Invest in flasks and good picnic ware it will pay for itself over time.
Hope you are all well. Thanks for reading
